None of our flowers seemed to want to bloom so I went a simple hydrangea centerpiece route. We had 2 tables n the screened in porch and one in the adjoining dining room.
Food for baptisms is hard logistically. So I went the caterer route. Best decision ever! I told her we'd probably be home at 12:45 and wany to eat around 1. We pulled in at 1245 and I freaked that the caterer wasn't there. She'd been and gone and left piping hot food in her wake- bacon wrapped chicken, parsley potatoes, vegetable medley, fruit salad, tossed salad, rolls. I failed at the presentation. I could have at least taken the boxes out from under right? Oh well. It tasted great and cost peanuts.

Great to hear it went well! The food looks delicious. You've got a gorgeous back yard!

Thanks. There won't be anymore baptisms, but I really need to step up the presentation game for the next party...a THIRD birthday bash.
Here's a better pic of that corner of the yard. We've worked really hard on it and I love to here people like it. I need to get some pics of the front sometime too.
Lovely! I'd like to come hang out on your porch!
Yardwork slays me. I do it because I'm OCD about having the prettiest house on the street, but I hate it with a passion. My current screen porch is really too small, but ya work with what you're given.
Wait...is that a waterfall in the corner?! No way. Our last house (now a rental) has an acre yard that could look like yours...if it didn't want to descend into primordial jungle every time you turn around. I can't imagine how wild the yard will be when we move back there after 5-10 years of renters...kill me now. Maybe I'll get a fabulously well paying job after graduation and I can just drop $40k on some contractor and tell him to make it nice and to give me a waterfall over there somewhere. HA!

Your kids are so cute and damn, that's a nice backyard retreat you have!
I think you totally did the right thing having it catered--I don't know any mom who was super stressed trying to DIY a baptism reception.
Seems like you had a great party!
