Travel time to NYC next Friday

I'm travleing to Boston next Friday and need to be there by mid afternoon.

The plan was leave Baltimore at 5am, the trip is a little less then 8 hrs.

However I'm concerned about hitting NYC morning rush hour too soon?

Should I just leave at 4am? And build in as much cushion as possible?

Its a friday before a holiday weekend, so not sure if a lot of people will be off and not going to work at a normal time and instead lots of traveling to the beaches?

Re: Travel time to NYC next Friday

  • I think NYC traffic by 9ish would be OK, but I'd be worried about Philly around 7.  I think Friday will be a very busy East Coast traffic day and 95 will suck.

Any chance you can train it up to Boston?

  • Next time I'll take the train or fly. This time I'm moving from Raleigh to Boston. I'm stuck in Raleigh till my house closing on Thursday at 9am, I need to drop off stuff in Baltimore and cant really do a 13 hr drive by myself straight thru. I'm rushing to get there Friday now b/c the movers want to deliver a day early and I'd much rather have them early then later (our delivery window is 2nd-7th)

I think I'll just leave earlier like 4 am. I'll get there.
