Every year the company I work for joins the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. I have been with the company 6 years and our team for the race has been the same person. This year, I have been elected as team captain. I would like to send out a company wide email asking for participants, donations and informing them I will handle signups this year. So my question/need for advice: Im not sure how to word the email. I don't want it to come across to previous caption as "Im going to be a better captain that you" but I do want to do things differently.
Can anyone help me word this email? (I've never been good at wording things like this. My high school english teachers hated it! haha!)
Re: Team captain email
Komen has sample emails on their site:

I am writing today because I'm putting together a team -- [Team Name] -- to participate in the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure? and I'm hoping you'll join us.
On June 2, literally tens of thousands of people--will gather in Washington, D.C. to run or walk in one of the most iconic places on the planet.
Up to 75 percent of the Komen Global Race for the Cure?s net income stays in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to fund local screening, treatment and education programs for the medically underserved. The remaining 25 percent help Komen?s work around the globe to share knowledge and experience, and to fund education and breast health services in regions where few exist.
Let's get started today. To register, go to GlobalRacefortheCure.org. Or, if you are unable to walk or run with us at the Mall on Race Day, please consider registering to Sleep In for the Cure?. Or, simply show your support by making a tax-deductible donation.
No matter how you get involved, the important thing is that you are joining us in the global movement to end breast cancer. Thanks and I'm really hoping you can join us on June 4.
Sincerely,
[Name]
Jenny McCarthy = Former Playmate and MTV host
Pediatrician = Doctor with extensive experience and education on children.
