Alex got his first black eye. He's come close a few times but ended up with just a bruise near it...but last night he was running around in feetie PJs and his puppy mat was next to the coffee table on the floor. He must have hit it just right with one of his feet, because he slid (and the puppy mat did too), and he bounced right off the corner (rounded) of the table. I watched it happen and I couldn't move fast enough.
It started bruising right to the side of his temple immediately, but this morning, he woke up with bruising under the eye and across the eyelid. Sigh. He's been totally fine, though, we motrin'd him immediately upon impact and 5 minutes later it was like nothing had happened, but you look at him and the kid looks like he's been through the ringer. I just haven't gotten a picture yet.
his first shiner! Sniffle. My boy is growing up so fast.
edit: for picture...
Re: It had to happen sometime...(improved, with pic!)
Aww Alex... way to go kid! Don't you hate when things like that happen, theres that split second where you wait for the cry and then it's bad news!!!!
Hope his eye gets better quick!
Oh no!!! Poor baby....hope his eye gets better quick! Jack fell down the other day ..and I keep reminding myself this is going to be the first of many falls...UGH
Awww Feel better Alex!
I was the queen of shiners as a kid - fell down stairs, sled into a tree...my poor mother said she always felt bad bringing me to the ER with black eyes - I have lots of childhood photos of me with BOTH eyes black and blue - can you say, clumsy?
Aw, poor guy!! It doesn't look too bad right now, which is good = ) If it gets bad hemrroid cream is good for black eyes. It helps to reduce the swelling, and redness. = )
Brianna is into this spinning thing lately where she'll spin in circles and then try to walk. Its hysterical but I"m so nervous she is going to bonk her head off of something!
