Hi ladies,
Can anyone help me by identifying this plant? It's growing in a bed that's been somewhat neglected since we moved in and I'm not sure if it's a weed or not. I looks like it has a flower pod. The plants, as they stand now, are about 10-12" tall,
with the spiky leaves the whole length. I'm in zone 5. TIA!

Re: Help with plant ID (PIP)
It might be liatris (gayfeather). Most of mine are taller than that, but yours could be a different variety. They bloom a lovely fuchsia color.
If it is liatris, it will be lovely, but will wander around the garden. Keep an eye on it!
