Europe is a maybe, and were not really thinking a relax on the beach place. What do you think ? If we do Europe I'm thinking scandanavia, any recs there ?

Re: Travel lovers, help !

  • Africa! Africa! Africa! Even for a week it's a great experience!

I've been to much of central & eastern, and western Europe, but never to southern Europe or northern Europe, so I can't give any recs there. Right now if I was to go back to Europe, I'd probably visit Switzerland again - just the thought of fresh, crisp Swiss alp air is enough to make me happy. Also, I really enjoyed Ecuador and would go there again in a heartbeat. I haven't been to Peru, but that's on my list, too.

If you're anything like me then getting "the call" is always in the back of your mind. So, make sure to get "cancel for any reason" travel insurance!

  • I've done Norway (many places) and Sweden (just Stockholm). I thought Norway was beautiful and very much like the northwest. Its very different than other parts of Europe though, so it depends on what you are looking for. Oslo also used to be one of the most expensive cities.. I think thats still true today.

  • I'm no help with Europe, I've only been to Switzerland and while I thought it was amazing it doesn't sound like that's where you want to go.

But, I did want to suggest what my boss and his wife do- if they go to Europe on one vacation, then they head the opposite direction the next. You can't go to the same continent twice in a row, and you always have to go somewhere new. I always thought it was cool and it has made them very well traveled.

  • Any reason you're most interested in Scandinavia? I haven't been there at all but I have been to many other places in Europe so it might help to know what you're hoping to do and see.
