My confessions

1-I don't like cats.  When I was growing up we always had one.  The one we had longest, Tessy, seemed to hate me.  I distinctly remember standing in the kitchen and she was in the living room, started running at me and jumped on my back and clawed me.  My parents current cat has hissed at me everytime I walk by since we got it in and I was in 8th grade.  But I do think the kitten pics are cute.

2- Last night before bed I was feeling like maybe I should reconnect spirtually so I pulled on my Kindle to read the ebook Bible...and then I realized I hadn't finished Chelsea Handler and read that instead, which is essentially like the opposite.

Any confessions?

I don't really have anything to confess (I'm boring), but this is too funny.Big Smile

    1)  I am the opposite of Hannah.  I confess that I am obsessed with cats (pretty sure you all know this though lol) and could easily turn into a crazy cat lady.  I have more pictures of my cat than I do my family members.  You know those little people stickers that people put on their back car windows?  Yeah, I have those on my car except it's a woman, man, and two cats lol.  I also prefer cats to children, and would rather spend my time and money fostering kittens than kids.  Sounds horrible and crazy, I know.

    2)  I confess that part of the reason I no longer desire to have children is because Jason and I have been told we most likely will not be able to have them.  I used to want to have kids so bad ( we were actually actively trying several years ago), but hearing this news sort of killed that part of my heart and I've learned to deal with it by telling myself it's not something I want anyway.

    3)  I confess that I am scared to be home alone at night due to my Mom and I being attacked by a strang man, who broke in, while we were cleaning an office building when I was only in 4th grade.  I've ignored it all these years because I hate when people blame something from their present on something from their past, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that's probably what caused my fear.

  • I think I would cry if I were ever to find out we were pregnant with twins. I just don't know if I could handle two little ones simultaneously. It makes me want to get pregnancies over with earlier (I read that at age 35 your body starts dropping multiple eggs at ovulation as a last ditch effort to procreate, so chances of multiples goes up exponentially). I'm 31 right now, and we're not planning on TTC until next year at the earliest, and eventually want two kids... I sit here and do the math on timing, and get a little anxious.

Re your #1 Xan-ha, to each her own, bc I'm definitely obsessed with dogs and have asked DH if we can get a DH, Han, Oscar(dog) sticker for our car but he says no.

    3. I think that's a totally legit fear!!

  • 1. I've been bitten by the baby bug again. I'm constantly being told I'm not getting any younger...I'm 30...but I don't think it's the right time for us, even though there never really is a perfect time. Anyway, my confession is when I lurk on the bump or on the getting pregnant boards here I tend to get carried away, for not trying, and want to chart and all that. lol. I'm going with the whatever happens happens way of living right now. Luckily DH is on board no matter what.

Wow...I am about to be 32 and we are starting next year also.  Now I am scared of multiples.  I can't imagine two at once.

  • 1. I sometimes try to start fights with DH just so that he will put me in my place, but it never happens because he is a huge softie. This irritates the hell out of me! Sometimes you want a man that will be the "man" and put his foot down, but he never does that. I hate feeling like I am the husband and the wife, I want him to be the man of the house.

    2. I also hate cats and this was brought full circle when we took over at the farm and I took it upon my self to feed the ferel farm cats (I starved them for two weeks so some of them would run off, and it worked). Those little a-holes broke into two different food containers (a little plastic garbagecan with a lid and a rubbermaid container made specifically for pet food that had a pin through the door). I give up and they can starve.

    3. I pray that we have twins, I would love to get them both done at the same time.

  • 1)  I confess that I am ever so slightly untrusting of people who hate cats.  I can't help it.  I still love y'all, but I think you're bonkers.  :-P

    2)  I fully confess that the following two things have taken over as my I-want-a-baby-but-can't-have-1-right-now sidetrackers:

    3)  I have a lot of stuff to finish at work before I'm off on Thursday and Friday, but I am on TN instead.

Ditto, in addition to Kenna's factoid about 35+ pregnancies, I've also read that increased dairy before concieving slightly increases the chance.  We're totally going to buy a dairy farm when we start TTC. lol
  • I'm also scared to death of multiples.  They run in my family.  I have a cousin and a close friend with twins and they both needed major help when they were young.  I would not have that help-- so I'm praying for one at a time!!!  Plus, everyone I know with one baby still gets out occasionally, we never see my twin friends :(

ditto this...it would be hard I'm sure, but I've thought of this too.

  • Since these confessions have been a lot about having babies...

I confess that DH and I just decided that we are going to start TTC at the end of summer.  We were going to wait until next summer, but have decided not much is going to change that will make it any different.  Every time I think of the fact that we have made this decision I get a little excited, a little nervous, and a little emotional thinking of what the future can hold.

  • I confess that I am a little jealous of BIL/SIL that they get the first grandchild even though they've been married for 15 years and regardless ours will be the first on my side...DH is older.  Hopefully we can take that only grandchild status away next year (hopefully in late spring)

I am also praying for twins but for #2/3 because DH only wants 2.

"I said what I meant and I meant what I said, an elephant's faithful 100%" Dr. Seuss, Horton Hatches The Egg. My Ovulation Chart Ttc buddies with LexiMS!
  • I Confess that I'm jealous of people who have pets, we agreed with the landlord we wouldn't have any pets...but I REALLY want a cat...and a greyhound...and a doberman...

I confess that I'm thinking I don't want to have kids, cause I'm sacred that I'll be on bed rest the whole time, and child birth kind of scares me.

Okay, since we're confessing baby stuff.  I confess that I am scared to death that I won't be able to get pregnant because of my age and weight.  I think about it constantly.

I heard yams also helps with multiples, or maybe that was getting a girl.  Either way I love yams so I will be eating a lot when we TTC.  There are twins on both sides of my family and MIL is a twin (though that doesn't affect me, but if we have a daughter she is likely to have twins).  I so want twins as pregnancy scares the crap out of me and I'd like to have 2 kids so the 2 for 1 special sounds great to me.  If they are girls they will likely be Ruby and Rose (r^2)... I'm such a stats geek.

  • 1. My mother in law told us to get a dog when we thought about having kids before we were ready (financially, etc). We got a cat instead, and she's been driving me crazy the last few weeks. However, she's being all lovey toward me today - probably because I don't feel well - so I don't have the urge to scream at her anymore.

     2. I started the Jillian Michaels "No More Trouble Zones" work out dvd today, and it kicked. my. a$$.

    3. I suggest eating something before working out, or you will wind up horribly nauseous.

I flip between wanting twins and getting it over with at once, and spacing them out a few years. Zach and his sister are 3 years apart, and I kind of like that factor, too. I'd also like one of each, but we'll see how it goes.
