Storm update!!

It was not just a storm, but definitely a tornado.  We had our power restored Friday afternoon (after I stalked Com-Ed).  Our downed wires were finally disconnected and removed on Saturday (after I stalked another Com-Ed truck). Trees were mostly removed on Saturday. Internet & cable back on Sunday.   Life is slowly getting back to semi-normal. 

The claims adjusters for the car & our house both came out today. 

My car had close to $4000 worth of damage, according to our claims guy.  That was more than $1000 over what our highest estimate was    Our claims guy found a couple of spots that the body shops didn't. 

The house...  they are covering everything, including 2 new fences (a fence guy was there at the same time our adjuster was, and talked him into 2 completely new fences) instead of just repairing the fences!!

Wow... what a week!   We still have a ton of work to do, but knowing so much of it will be covered by insurance is a huge relief. I currently love our insurance company. Even though our adjuster was kind of a pain to get a hold of last week,  he was great today (he was without power at both his house and his office!) Anyone who is just buying a house- Erie Insurance is great!!  Our neighbor still hasn't spoken with a human at his insurance company.   He said his insurance company's slogan is still true- if your definition of a good neighbor is a neighbor that completely ignores you

 

  I am just SOOO glad DH talked me out of painting our bedroom two weeks ago... b/c that is the wall that will need to be repaired on the inside!

Wow!  I'm glad everything is getting back to normal with you!  I'll probably think of you now every time we get a rough storm and the GIANT tree outside our apartment just shakes and bends.  I swear it's going to come through our bedroom window one of these days.
