Re: Hump Day Rrrrrrrrandoms
Am I the first to post this morning? Wow! I'm so excited for my 4-day weekend! We are going up to my parents' condo in Manistee all weekend. What is everyone else doing?
In baby news, I had a first-trimester u/s done at the high risk ob yesterday. It was amazing! Everything was so clear! They even had a screen on the ceiling so I didn't have to crane my neck! And best of all, baby is looking great!
Good morning!
Goodgollie, so glad to hear that BabyGoodgollie is doing great!
My parents and brother will be visiting for part of the weekend. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly we're going to do. So far I'm thinking a BBQ with additional family and friends, spending some time in Grand Haven, and watching the GR fireworks.
This morning while sitting at my kitchen table drinking my tea I watched two little fawn dance and play in my back yard. It was so beautiful. It looked like they were chasing imaginary butterflies. Totally made my morning.
Then I noticed animal poop on my back deck. Living in the country definitely has its benefits and drawbacks.
Unfortunately I am housebound for the weekend (I can't go father then 1 hr from hospital). It will be the 1st 4th July weekend in 10 years we haven't spent it with my parents. They are talking about driving down and doing a cook out with us one night though. I guess they miss us too.
There are lots of parades around the area, if that's their thing. I'm sure you've seen it, but the GRNow 4th of July guide is a good one.
Yeah... it is there thing, but I'm kind of hoping to avoid it. We may very well attend the Grand Rapids parade though.
I don't think we have much going on this weekend. We have our "party" up on look out hill on the 4th so I be putting things together for that this weekend.
DH had a pretty ruff night last night and I feel at a complete loss on what to do. I'm trying to be positive and that the hearing loss is just temporary.
Oh wow, that is pretty terrible. Sorry for the extra stress they are causing you!
I have a LinkedIn wwyd. A customer that my colleague helped requested me to join their network. I don't really remember this person and did not help them at all--I think it's possible that the customer thinks that I am my colleague (I don't have a profile pic on LinkedIn). I'm wondering if I should accept their request. I currently don't use LinkedIn much at all (I have a network and accept invitations from people that I know, but that's it. However, I may be using LinkedIn more extensively in the future. Would you accept the request?
Wop, I'm sorry to hear that you're continuing to have problems with your doctor's office. I'd be irritated too!
Mira, fawns playing the backyard are awesome!
Deeder, sorry to hear that your H isn't feeling better yet.
Diana, unlike with FB, I have a pretty liberal policy of accepting connection requests on LinkedIn. Unless I don't know them at all and/or suspect that they're trying to sell me something, I typically accept the requests. My philosophy with LinkedIn is that the whole point is to build a network, so the more the merrier. Granted, I'm still waiting for that network to be useful in any way, but that's neither here nor there. So, if it were me, I'd accept the request. But if you want to keep your network more intimate, than I think you would be justified ignoring it since you don't really know her at all.
I'm sorry you're sick. Feel better quickly!
I am envisioning your backyard looking something like this:
lol
Supposed to be a scorcher this weekend but hey better than nothing.
I hate when the darn birds wake me up at 5:30/6 in the morning. Ugh
WOP, that's nuts. Your docs office can't help it if the lab broke a vial, but to not review your ultrasound with you is... well, wrong. Is the change of due date based on a 20 week ultrasound (sorry, if you said so)?
Deeder, I hope your H's hearing returns just a quickly as it left. Jim has a permanant 95% loss in one ear. It's really frustrating for both of us at times. Here's hoping tonight the hearing fairy comes to visit.
MIra, fawns! I love that image.
That is BS....Usually unless your u/s is way off, they don't change the due date. I think it is usually a two week window With Allison according to my dates that I had I figured a July 28th due date and the u/s confirmed that, but they still kept the Aug 2 date.
Wop: I would be livid at my Dr's office. How many visits have you had since that ultrasound? ETA: nm I see the answer in your original post. Reading fail on my part, lol. I would be having a discussion with my Dr about what happened here. You have every right to be upset.
Charity: I love when the birds wake me up in the AM. But I am weird like that.
D&M: LMAO. Yeah just like that, just not cartoony.
That sucks Wop. They should have reviewed the ultrasound with you. If they change your due date, that's a pretty big deal! I can't believe your ob didn't say anything. I've heard that they will only change your due date if the ultrasounds are more than a week off. It sucks that you are a week behind what you thought, but you also don't want to be induced if you don't have to be, right? They didn't change my sister's due date even though she was measuring a week behind, they induced her at 40 weeks and she was in labor for 25 hours. Still...its sucks at this point to be a week behind what you thought. =(
The doctor should have reviewed the ultrasound outcomes. "All of the limbs and organs are where they should be" or something like that. I can kind of see the due date thing, though. I would think if baby was measuring a tad behind at the ultrasound, and it got recorded as such, that's where HR's paperwork due date came from. Like GVSU said, a doc wouldn't change the official due date with a small measurement difference. I wouldn't move forward with the mindset that you're a week behind, WOP. Baby was smaller then, that's all.
I'm not upset that baby was measuring a week behind the average, but that they simply didn't tell me they changed my due date from the original. The extra 8 days is no big deal, it just bugs me they didn't tell me.
And I'm mostly upset about being forgotten about at the Dr.'s office for the first glucose test. I get that stuff breaks, but if they had their stuff together the first time I wouldn't have to waste my time with 3 appts. I get paid by the hour, so if I'm not at work, I'm not getting paid. I lost quite a few hours of pay because of all this, which sucks, and right now, every dollar counts.
I got a call from the office manager at the office today, and she was very apologetic and understanding. She assured me that at my next appt. someone will review my ultrasound with me and the Dr. will personally give me an accurate date. She will also make sure to look into why I was forgotten about for the glucose test. I was happy someone took the time to call and apologize for the whole fiasco.
GRSP ~ my H let out a small man-giggle last night, so I asked him what was up. He said "That Tonka truck idea is awesome."
They forgot about you?! What?
I'm not saying you shouldn't be upset. I get that time is - quite literally money. And even if dollars weren't an issue, all of the OB appointments can be a hassle.
What I was saying was this: I'll bet that the doctor didn't change your due date officially, but that the paperwork HR got had the ultrasound date. The doc should have told you about the ultrasound, but I bet he/she isn't going to change our official date.
I'm glad someone from that office is taking time with you. They've not been very attentitive.
Can't wait to see photos!
