Hi there!!! I am hoping you guys may have some advice.
My husband, my 7 month old and I are relocating to the Raliegh area. We are mostly looking at Cary. Right now we own a home and are selling and are planning on getting an apartment when we 1st move down. We obviously want to make sure we love it before buying a new home.
Last week we drove through and love the area. We did look at a few places. Does anyone have any suggestion on good apartments? We also have 2 dogs. They all seem like great communities, but really there are so many.
Re: Moving to Cary, NC
Are there a couple specific ones you're considering?
We currently live in Morrisville, near Cary, and would not recommend our apartment complex. I'd actually stay away from anything managed by Bell Apartment Living. Here's a link to their area communities: http://www.bellapartmentliving.com/search.asp?SearchState=NC&SearchCity=Raleigh%20Metro
My friend lives in the Oaks at Weston which is actually in Morrisville, but right next to Cary. She loves it. It's very nice there and the maintenance and office staff is very attentive.
I have 2 friends that live in apartments near Crossroads (off of Dillard drive behind Moes). They really like it there and it seems very quiet any time I've been.
We looked at the following places so far:
Tradition at Stonewater
Alexan at Panther Creek
and The park at crossroads
Do you know if they accept animals? I have 2 dogs. If so I would love the information. Thank you so much.
Hello,
I actually live in The Park at Crossroads. It's definitely a great place to live. There are tons of dogs that live there so as long as you clean up after them there are no problems with owning dogs there and the dog park is really great. We did pay extra for each animal (we have one dog and one cat) up front but there's no additional monthly fee. They are running a 2 bedroom special right now but I'm not sure what it is, I've just seen the sign lol, and we live in a one bedroom right now.
It also seems to be a very child friendly community as there are always numerous children playing in the pool when we go. The language among some people at the pool isn't child appropriate but since your child is only about 7 months it's probably not something you have to worry about. The pond over at The Lodge is also a nice play to just go hang out, sit in adirondack chairs, and feed the ducks. The greenway is on the other side of Tryon and there's also a walking path that leads to a shopping plaza so on nice days we sometimes walk over there.
We live on the second floor and love the "net nook" (office) and the balcony, the crown molding and walk in closet. It's also nice to have our own washer and dryer in there. I know it would be difficult with a child but I definitely recommend living on the 3rd floor, we had issues with a very loud tenant above us and I could definitely see his footsteps and late night lifestyle waking a sleeping baby. We could even hear his alarm faintly in the mornings.
It really is a great area to live in with Crossroads right there. There's also an amphitheatre nearby where you can go see the 4th of July fireworks, concerts as well as free movies some evenings. During those movies you can bring your own food, beverages (including alcohol) and just hang out, it's also a very nice park right there.
The woman we've dealt with since moving in October just left so I can't recommend her to you. I'd just say avoid Courtney. She is not pleasant and not helpful in the least bit. I turned in our move in checklist and made sure I listed all the nail holes and things that were leftover from the last tenant and her response was "well we're not going to do anything about that" Um yeah I wasn't asking you to I just don't want to be charged for it when we move it but thanks for your oh so helpful attitude.
For other suggestions, my best friend lives in these apartments http://www.apartments.com/rent/Cary-NC/Legacy-Crossroads/102139.27 They are more expensive but they have a lot of upgrades, I love their kitchen it definitely isn't a standard apartment kitchen likes ours is. They also have 2 dogs but no dog park so they come over and use ours since it's right down the road.
Hope I've been helpful, if you want any other information feel free to contact me. Good luck with your move!
I lived at the Enclave at Crossroads about a year ago and I was very happy with my experience there. It's a quiet, gated community. I would recommend getting a 2nd floor apartment if possible, we could always hear our neighbors upstairs walking around. The gym is lacking, but the clubhouse and pool are nice. They do allow dogs.
There's another complex right behind it called The Asheboro. We looked at those and they were very nice looking. They had an age restriction (22+) and one of my roommates was only 21, so we couldn't live there. Not sure if they allow dogs.
