Anyone have an AW Wednesday? I know I'm all about these daily posts, but I don't think I have anything to AW today!
Anyone?
Re: AWW?
Here are some recent pictures from our basement project:
Paint on the wall (called antique silver - it's a blue color), fireplace grouted (but the stones still need to be cleaned), and on either side will be a cabinet below with shelves above as a bookcase:
New tile in the expanded part of the foyer (grout will dry to the same light gray color as the existing tile - and we'll clean the tiles themselves
):
Painted doors:
I've been MIA the last couple of days so sorry I haven't been around to play.
My AW is work-related. I had a half-year review/check in recently and my boss basically told me that I should start thinking about what kind of job I want at the firm so they can try to make it happen. He knows that my current job isn't challenging enough for me and they're giving me an opportunity to possibly make my own role. It's flattering. Now I just need to figure out what it is I want to do
That is really awesome! Congratulations!
Rock that is awesome! MrsC your basement looks amazing!
Yay, Rock! Congrats! I hope you can turn it into something fabulous.
And MrsC, that's gorgeous!
Thanks, everyone!
But, c'mon now, no one besides me and MrsC has anything to AW about? Recent baking accomplishments (baker, haven't seen one of your cakes in a while), baby pics, gardening projects, money saved, new toys bought, whatever! It doesn't have to be huge, just share!
This is what I've got... We've been going swimming in the nice weather this week (we're going again this afternoon):
I feel boring because I only ever have 2 things to AW: baby and knitting, and usually they're together LOL
I made a wedding cake recently, but I'm always hesitant to post pics on here because what if someone (a lurker) recognizes it and figures out who I am (because we know each other IRL) and starts internet stalking me??? Yes I am internet paranoid
I did take some good pics of the vegetables growing in my garden yesterday. I'll have to AW those once I get them uploaded.
I guess I don't blame you; I'm Internet paranoid too. But I want to see some pretty cakes, damn it! Maybe some of your personal ones?
LadyE...great picture! He's so cute and happy, and his little outfit is adorable too.
Aww, LadyE, he's adorable! He looks like such a happy little guy.
Baker-I get paranoid too
LadyE- so so so cute!
Awesome!! I got one a few years ago and don't use it enough. I made sure we set up the kitchen at our new place, so that there is a spot on the counter for it! Hoping that will inspire me to use it more
If I make yummy stuff, who do I share it with? I can't eat it all
A little late, but not sure if I mentioned this yet, I bought some awesome outfits this week for interviews. Make me feel very confident and professional! I've also decided I want to wear heels more often, starting small though...don't want to hurt myself. I think being home and watching "What not to wear" is affecting me.
Yeah, this falls into the category of Random Things I've Learned from The Nest/Bump
Heck, I didn't even know brides & grooms buy each other wedding gifts before The Knot.
Push presents are definitely a Nest/Bump thing as far as I know.
Congrats on your new mixer CDC! Mine changed my life, haha. I can't believe I thought I could get through life with just a hand mixer. What do you plan to use it for?
There was an article in the NY Times (I think) a couple of years ago about the push present, and I was horrified. It's one thing for your husband to buy something, but to demand something? Gross.
(Ooh, here is is. I was afraid I'd made it up. God bless the interwebs.)
Congrats on the Kitchen-Aid, CDC! We had one on our registry, but when no one bought it for our shower, I went ahead and bought it myself off Rue La La. (We had a tiny wedding, so we knew we wouldn't get it if we hadn't by then.) I've used it exactly once in the year I've had it, but I don't care. I just like knowing it's there.
Red!!! It is beautiful. I think DH felt guilty because we bought him a tractor last week. I have always wanted a mixer, and it was high on my list of kitchen things I "need." I want to make breads, and things with it. I want to make my own whipped cream!
I don't know if DH will get me a push present. I for sure heard about push presents before the nest. The guys in my previous office all got things for their wives. I guess it is nice?? I mean I like presents....but really the baby is the present right? Ha ha ha.
All my kitchen stuff is red too
My kitchen theme is cherries.
