Things to do in the summer?

My BF and I are starting to get a little restless and are SO READY for summer to be over!  We are running out of ideas of things to do.  It doesn't help that we live WAY the hell out in Maricopa!  The other day we wandered around Walmart because we were so bored!  Stick out tongue  So other than wandering around the mall or going to the movies, what do you all do during the super hot months?

  • The Arizona Grand.  Its a beautiful resort with an AWESOME water park.  Sometimes they run specials towards the end of July and August.

  • Oh, and we plan to eventually travel up north.  We always say we are going to do it, but then it never happens.  Anyone know of a river or lake that we can bring dogs to?

  • Not really a lake or river up North, but have you been to Cosmo dog park in Gilbert? If you pups like water, they will LOVE this park

I have heard of it, but haven't been yet.  I've been wanting to take my dogs there so badly, but yet just never get around to going.  Now it's WAY too hot.  Oh well, someday!

Yea...Summer means dog park hiatus for us too Sad BUT when it does start to cool off, it really is a GREAT park...voted #2 in the nation awhile back!

  • We still hit the dog park after the sun goes down, but we have a pug and she overheats easily so we don't stay nearly as long as we do the rest of the year.

A lot of water parks have evening specials so you can enjoy the water slides without the intense sunshine (and at a lower cost than a full day pass!)  We also go to California a few weekends each summer to do wine tasting or go to the beach.  Other than that...we mostly just catch up on our Netflix queue.  It's not overly exciting, but it does give us something to do.
