Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.

Looks like the spammers have made it to this board now, too.  I got stuck in the post below and couldn't get out!

To answer your question about easy things to be green...

- Recycle everything you can (after reducing your consumption in areas where you can)

- Use reusable bags for shopping

- Only buy food you will eat and not let spoil, local and in season when possible

-  Switch to cloth napkins and clean with washcloths/towels instead of using paper towels

- Set your air conditioning to a higher temperature

- Replace light bulbs with CFLs when they burn out

- Unplug electronics when you're not using them.  They can still pull quite a bit of power even if they're not turned on.  (phone chargers, game consoles, etc.)  I make this easy by using power strips and flipping them off.

-  Obvious savers like turning the lights off when you leave a room, turning the water off while you're soaping your hands or brushing your teeth

- Take a reusable coffee mug and/or cup to work to use instead of disposable

- Vinegar in place of fabric softener and/or rinse aid in the dishwasher

I'm sure there are tons more I'm forgetting.  Hopefully someone else will come in and help me out... :-)
