Re: It's Real Friday!
Spending 3 days and 4 nights in the Monticello lake region!
DH has been dreaming of it the whole week; he is so ready for a vacation.
Today- Working until 4:00 then heading to camp for a couple of days. I'm excited that this weekend is actually supposed to be pretty nice! I really want to go swimming and just be outside and do camp stuff for the next few days.
Tomorrow- Getting up early and going yardsaling. Was hoping to go with MIL and SIL, but I can't get a straight answer from MIL about her plans, so I'm going at 9AM with or without them. Then spending the rest of the day at camp.
Sunday- Will probably head home in the afternoon or after dinner.
Monday- Doing chores around the house. Weekly cleaning, menu planning, etc. I want to work some more on clearing the junk and clutter out of the baby's future bedroom. It's so horrible. I don't even know what to do with all the crap we have in there.
Where is that??
Yay! Friday!!
Tonight: My sister and Cate (5) are arriving from RI to stay for a whole week. I'm taking the week off too. Tonight I will just skip out to say hello after work.
Tomorrow: I would love to go to the lake or beach but I don't know if I can get my sister to get her act together after just arriving in Maine. We might skip across town to go to the little beach on Pleasant Pond. Maybe go for a boat ride. Play. Eat. Giggle.
Sunday: More of the same.

My parents' camp in Monticello - about 20 min north of Houlton
Yep, working today. Boo. Most of the people here took it off though and one of our main systems are down for y/e so it's pretty quiet here.
We are staying around our area for the 4th. Belgrade village has a great 4th of July celebration and we are right on the edge of the village and a front row spot to the parade-so our nieces and nephews love it. I hope to relax and eat good food most of the weekend as well as spend time with family.

Today: I'm devoting the day to my promotion application. I've been putting it off because I've felt conflicted about how much work time vs. nonwork time to spend on it. But one of my colleagues gave me a good kick in the pants yesterday!
Tonight: grilling with my aunt and uncle before they move up their Maine house for the summer.
Tomorrow: Head to Ikea to look at (and hopefully purchase) new kitchen cabinets!
Sunday: Meeting a group of friends at the annual Smithsonian Folklife festival.
Monday: Most likely we'll have a low-key 4th. Grill, go to the pool, and watch the Boston Pops on tv.
Working today and then heading out to dinner with friends for a little Bon Voyage. One of said friends is moving to RI.
Tomorrow we don't have much on the agenda. I may take Ridz Crackers over to my sister's pool to swim if it is nice out. Then I think we are planning to have a backyard camping trip. We will BBQ for dinner and then have a campfire with s'mores followed by sleeping in our sleeping bags in a tent in the backyard. I figure this is a good way for us to experiment with camping. If Ridley and I can't handle our own backyard, there is no way we can handle a campground.
Sunday we have the new Farmer's Market in the morning and then we are headed to Brunswick to have dinner with my former boss. He is in Maine from NYC for the weekend.
Monday we are headed to my sister's for a cookout with watermelon martinis (thank you Katie). I am also hoping that our blueberry bush will be ready so that I can make a blueberry rhubarb pie. I LOVE making pie. So easy and yummy.
Today I started babysitting a 10 week old (I'll be watching her 4 days a week) I'll be watching her on Sunday as well!
Saturday I'm picking DS up from my XH for his week back home with me!
I think we will stay home for the 4th, maybe go play mini-golf and watch the fireworks in Winslow or Bangor.
Woo hoo!
Today - we did breakfast and are probably going to do something this afternoon before meeting his fam for dinner, but right now Matt's at work so I'm puttering around paying bills, washing dishes etc. After dinner with his folks we are going out for drinks with some friends.
Tomorrow - wedding in Skowvegas!
Sunday - family time, they'll probably be doing a BBQ that day because my sis and BIL are leaving Mon. morning
Monday - no clue yet, but finding some fireworks for sure
Today~ laundry, picking up Weston's ashes from the vet, and working tonight.
Tomorrow~ I'm turning 30. Party at my parents in Cape, definitely looking forward to seeing my family and friends, it will be a great distraction from the awful week we've had.
Sunday~ I have no idea...Turner is turning 225 or something like that and there's a lot going on with fireworks and festivities.
Monday I'm working all day because just about everyone wanted the day off.

On Tuesday DH let Wes out and he went across the road to the marsh to play in the water. DH heard a car coming when he saw Wes coming up from the marsh so he told him to sit and stay. Dev was coming down the drive way and the people who were in the van saw DH so they thought maybe one of the girls was with him. They didn't even see Wes sitting on the side of the road and they hit him. He made it across the street and up the drive way, but he was really really badly hurt. DH tried to pick him up to get him into the car to bring him to the vet, but he bit DH in the hand, he was in too much pain. So he stayed right with him, He called me ( I was in Cape with the girls) and told me what happened and that he couldn't get him in the car. While I was on the phone with him he stopped breathing. I will never in my life forget the sound of DH sobbing begging for him not leave him. We are all just so heartbroken, he was such a good good dog. Always listened and was so so loving. DH blames himself, but there was nothing he could have done. We've all had a really really rough time dealing with loosing him
Oh this is heartbreaking. I am so sorry you have had to go through this.
It's terrible your husband blames himself, accidents happen. Thinking of you all.

I don't really have major plans for this weekend.
Sunday afternoon we're taking DD up to her grandparents' for the night; they'll take her to the Freeport parade on Monday.
I told SIL that I would make menus for her wedding on 7/30 so I might work on those a bit.
I think DH might try to powerwash the house. It really needs it.
