So we cleared title...or did we?

The title company messed up.  Big time.  Yesterday morning we were notified that there were three open permits on the property.  WTF?  Of course, my dad (our lawyer) spent all day in court, so I'm handling a lot of this with the REA and she's communicating all this to the seller and their attorney.  The seller's attorney went down to the building board and found out that they pulled title on the WRONG PROPERTY.

We're trying to close in a WEEK because DH was not smart through all this, and decided to interview for a new job, which he needs to accept, but that could RUIN this whole process, because if we don't close before he starts, he won't pass employment verification.

The seller's attorney claims to have resubmitted everything to the title company, but my dad called the title company yesterday at 4:45pm and they hadn't gotten anything yet.  Needless to say, I'm stressed beyond belief and when the phone rang at 9am, I jumped out of bed.  Of course, it was just an auto-reminder from CVS, but I couldn't go back to sleep.

I'm so afraid.  I'm afraid we're going to lose our good faith money (5% of the purchase price), I'm afraid we're going to lose the house, and I'm afraid that DH will mess up his job situation with the new job because we keep asking them to extend his start date.

Aww, that is so crappy....and people are a pain in the butt. I am keeping my fingers crossed everything works out.

I'll keep all my fingers cross!!  Home buying is so unnecessarily stressful at times!!
