Re: Friday Five!
1. What do you like in your salad? I like really plain salads (I am not much of a salad person anyway). Lettuce, Cheese, Dressing, Croutons, Carrots. Thats pretty much it.
2. What's the nicest place you've stayed? What was the occasion? We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in Manhattan the day after our wedding. The room we stayed in goes for about $1500 a night. It was the 57th floor overlooking Central Park. Beautiful. It was a wedding gift from one of our families close friends with a lot of connections in the city.
3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something? Not to purchase something. I wanted to get backstage at the Today show to meet Carrie Underwood last summer, so I got there at like 3:00 AM. It worked out perfect though because I was right up front during the concert and when she came around I got her signature on the People Magazine from her wedding. I will treasure that forever! 4. Which childhood fairy tale or story was your favorite when you were little? I was big on the Little Mermaid. She was my faaaaavorite. I made my mom make me an ariel costume for halloween and everything.
5. Plans for the holiday weekend? Graduation party tomorrow then heading up to Lake George to go to my families golf course! Can't wait!
2. What's the nicest place you've stayed? What was the occasion? The hotel we stayed at in Lake Tahoe one summer for a family reunion. It was right on the lake and beautiful!!
3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something? No, but I have set an alarm to get online to purchase stuff (the day before Thanksgiving has the sales online for most stores).
4. Which childhood fairy tale or story was your favorite when you were little? Well, probably Cinderella.
5. Plans for the holiday weekend? See other post. But lots of food and fun. Unfortunately, my sister's fam has to drive from Denver to Omaha (8+hours) then back down to Blue Hill (3 hours) because their luggage is up in Omaha, and they have to switch rental cars up there. So, they won't be here til really late. Boo.
2. What's the nicest place you've stayed? What was the occasion? Well the Casa Marina is where we stayed on our honeymoon which was amazing it was a Waldorf property, we stayed one night at the Waldorf in NYC since we got a freakishly good deal on it (for our second or third anniversary). (I know I've stayed at awesome places w/ my parents on family vaca but can't necessarily remember the names)
3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something? No.....
4. Which childhood fairy tale or story was your favorite when you were little? Probably Cinderella. That was always at the top of the list!
5. Plans for the holiday weekend? Saturday party at our house, Sunday family party at a family friend's house (with a pool), Monday dinner at another friend's house. Should be a fun weekend!

1. Pretty much anything thats on a big salad bar except peppers and beans/ chickpeas. When I get the salad bar my plate ends up piled so high at the end heehee.
2. Probably the room in Jamaica on our honeymoon. It was on the third (top) floor, closest to the ocean, suite with a whirlpool and a hammock on the balcony. We had the most amazing view ever. (see my FB pictures)
3. Nope! @Breanne I am so jealous you got to be so close for Carrie Underwood! I took a friend to her concert in Allentown PA and we were 5 rows back but far to one side. I love her music!
4. I loved the Disney stuff from The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin.
5. Cleaning my car, prepping for vacation and relaxing bc next week will be busy getting ready!
April 2010 Siggy Challenge: Next Vacation Destination
1. What do you like in your salad?
If I may say so myself, I make some pretty mean salads. I usually love fruit, nuts and a tangy dressing. I love craisins and gorgonzola cheese with balsamic viniagrette (homemade of course) - that one would have to be my fave combo!
I have never had a bad experience at a hotel, but one of the best was the Marriott in Aruba. My best girl friend and I went there in our single days (we called it our honeymoon hahaha) and we were just treated like royalty. I would love to go back with hubby. 3. To sum it up, lots of beach time, great food, fireworks and BBQ with family. Perfection.
1. What do you like in your salad? Mixed greens, red bell pepper, cilantro, grilled chicken, blue cheese, sunflower seeds, chick peas & a vinagrette
2. What's the nicest place you've stayed? What was the occasion? Plantation Inn in Savannah, Ga. I told them it was my 30th birthday & they upgraded my room at no charge!
3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something? No.....
4. Which childhood fairy tale or story was your favorite when you were little? When my Dad would tuck me in at night he would tell me stories about Brer Rabbit. He was a farmer (retired) so he'd tell me how he saw Brer in the field & talked to him about how things were going in the woods. There were other characters that he made up too. There was also Brother Bear & Brother Buzzard. I think there was a Fox too but I can't remember his name (Brother Fox??). Those stories were great & one of my favorite childhood memories.
5. Plans for the holiday weekend? Going to White Lake, NC with DH, SD & the ILs

Man - this is a hard one! Whenever I travel, I try to make the most of the experience by staying in a hotel/Inn that will add to my enjoyment of the city - so I tend to lean toward places with either some type of history or that little something extra to recommend them, and most of them would be considered very nice. But if I had to pick just one, it would be a tie between the Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton. Both were for business/pleasure...although the suite at the inn where we were married (Antrim 1844 Country House Inn) was pretty nice too!
3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something?
Not technically a camp out, but I did get up super early and stand in line for Dixie Chicks tickets once!
4. Which childhood fairy tale or story was your favorite when you were little?
Hmmm...I'd have to say Cinderella :-)
5. Plans for the holiday weekend?
Family cookout and hanging out with friends for the first half, and no plans for Sunday/Monday yet...although I can't say that I'm upset about that!

2. What's the nicest place you've stayed? What was the occasion? La Estancia - it's a very high end hotel in La Jolla where we stayed our wedding night - we had couples massages the next day and they were A-mazing!

1. What do you like in your salad? Mostly veggies and cheese. If croutons are on it, I'll eat them first.
2. What's the nicest place you've stayed? What was the occasion? I'd have to say it was at a Sandals in St. Lucia. It was for the first dating anniversary with DH.
3. Have you ever camped out to purchase something? No. But I did stand in line with my mom and sister to get Wicked tickets for quite a few hours only to realize we would have been there all day so we left!
4. Which childhood fairy tale or story was your favorite when you were little? Definitely Little Mermaid!
5. Plans for the holiday weekend? Going home to my parents. It's my Dad's b-day on the 4th!
