Tall clothes?

I hate that Gap and Old navy have tall stuff....but only online!  Grrr.  I got an awesome pair of jeans online with Old Navy, but their shirts are TOO LONG.  I have a shorter torso than a "tall" woman, but longer arms.

Anyway, other than the horrid Long Tall Sally at MOA, anyone know *in person* tall clothes that I can try on to see they fit well??

Re: Tall clothes?

  • I have the same problem!  Long legs and arms...short torso.  So hard to find clothes that fit right!  Let me know if you find anything good.  Mostly I have to try on everything and it is always hit or miss.  I have never found a "brand" that fit well.
  • boo! Maybe we should go shopping together some time because honestly, shopping like this requires moral support!  lol
  • When it comes to jeans, I've actually found that Gap Long and Lean - in Regular  length - are great for longer legs/taller bodies. I'm 5'11" and two (of the three available) washes of the Long and Leans fit GREAT!  One wash (can't remember which - either the very dark one or the medium one) is strangely too short, but two of the three are consistently long enough to work for me.   I was so happy when I discovered this!

I didn't realize this little quirk until I ordered a "long" pair online and they are almost TOO long.  I really can only wear them with certain shoes - very frustrating and something I am not used to!

I've also noticed that although the style is the same, the fit varies with the washes. The darker washes seem to stretch more and are looser while the regular/lighter washes are a bit more form fitting. Very odd.

As for other types of clothes, I'm at a loss - - but I do feel your pain!

  • There is Long Tong Sally at MOA where you will probably finder longer sleeves.  But, that might also mean a torso that is too long for you.

I often find that having sleeves that are long enough means a top will be huge around my stomach.  I hate that.

I have a pea coat from Old Navy and a blazer from Gap both in "tall" and the sleeves are actually long enough - it's so great.  I will only buy "tall" coats from now on.

    Good luck on your search!
