how is this for a name?

at my il's bbq today there was a woman there with her two yr old son named Luscious, pronounced Looscious. okay if that's not bad enough for you, my sil told me the mother had originally lobbied the baby daddy for Lucifer (Lucifer!!!!!!!) and he told her no. Compared to that Luscious is a dream name.

  • My first thought is of Harry Potter. The character Lucious Malfoy. So yeah, not a fan of the name. Ha. There us a little blonde boy just over a year old that's part of the playgroup we joined - his name is Lucious. His grandmother brings him and I wanted to ask if he was named after HP but then she mentioned her son in law's (the baby's father) name is also Lucious. Weird.

  • I would start calling him Luke and hope that caught on!

Lucious definitely makes me think Harry Potter. I'm hoping it's really spelled like that and not luscious. As in you have luscious lips.

  • Here's a random addition to this post and another wtf name spelling:  My brother (my half brother that I don't really see or talk to much, but we actually talk and communicate via FB so it's both nice and awkward at the same time especially since we got married within a month of each other and had our first kids within three months of each other, but only discovered this via FB, so yeah ANYway), he's a photographer and he just posted to his blog a session he did with a little girl named Paityne.  I'm assuming its pronounced like Peyton and the parents just wanted to be all "you-neek."  Blah.

  • I've known a Lucious, Lucifer, Damian/Damien and a Lillith. Never thought any of them were odd. It's amazing how naming goes in cycles. I'd find a name like Prudence more odd nowadays.
