Good Morning!

Morning ladies!  How was everyone's holiday weekend?  Matt and I went to his parents house at the beach.  It was our first "vacation" as an old married couple.

Re: Good Morning!

  • Good morning!  We went to the fireworks last night which were really nice, but as we were leaving a HUGE brawl broke out.  There were police dogs and the whole nine yards...scary!  It amazes me that after we listen to several patriotic songs and thank our troops and their families that some people think it is the appropriate time and place to start a fight!

Anyways today is my birthday.  Half a century old today...it is a strange feeling!

     Have a great day everyone!

  • Happy birthday Amanda!!

We had a really nice weekend. I got my hair dyed and cut and my nails shellac'd on Saturday. I'm really loving the red baroness color and I am NOT normally a red nail kind of girl. We then went to the fireworks at Oregon Ridge and it was so nice!

Sunday I had two photoshoots, one with a baking company and a second engagement session with my friends based on the theme of their wedding (baking & cooking!) so they can use the photos on their table numbers and thank you cards.

Yesterday we had a nice day off at home. I went to the gym in the morning, then we stuffed our invites (yay! FI helped too :)) took a nice motorcycle ride and just kind of relaxed the rest of the day.

There are two beautiful houses near us for sale and we stopped by both yesterday and walked through the yard and peeked through the windows like creepers. We're going to tour the inside of the houses on Sunday. I've got a hunch we're going to put an offer in on the one closest to us. It's across the street from a middle school, on a 1/4 acre lot (the other one is on a half acre), but the inside of the house is all new and beautiful! The other house we're looking at is beautiful on the outside, on an AWESOME half acre lot but needs A LOT of work to get it to be our style. The inside is pretty hideous and the kitchen has a nice layout but is so so ugly.

We'll see :) We may be homeowners before the wedding just yet!

Have a wonderful day, all! I'll be hanging over here today until I get reactivated on TK <3

  • Morning ladies! We had a fantastic long weekend, and I am definitely slow moving from being in a relaxed mode all weekend. Tonight one of my girl friends is supposed to be coming over for dinner, but if that falls through I am going to try a class called Body Jam at the gym. I really wanna try Zumba too, but I always feel self conscious in new classes. I'm trying to find a new recipe for the chicken tenders I have thawing for dinner, I think our grill ran out of gas this weekend :0( hope you ladies have a good day!
  • Happy Birthday Amanda!

Brea, I want to know how you got that shot of the cupcakes where it looks like they are about to put them in the oven.  Share!  :)  I thought that was a really neat idea.

  • Brandi-- I know exactly what you mean about Zumba! I've wanted to do it for over a year but I still haven't gotten up the nerve. Yet I am in the front of every other class at the gym whether it's spin, body pump, combat, etc.

Kelly-- I have a wireless remote, so I set the camera in the oven (they didn't preheat it until after we got this shot) and stood off to the side to trigger it :)

  • I had to go back to the pictures to see which one Kelly was talking about, and I agree that shot is fantastic!
  • Thanks! :) I was really pleased with how that entire shoot went.

Nice!  Those pics turned out really well.  I wish you lived closer, I'd make you give me some lessons. :)

  • If we ever do this East Coast GTG we can try to squeeze some in then :P
  • I agree Brea that shoot came out awesome! We had a nice relaxing weekend, didn't do much had a few cook outs went to the beach yesterday with friends and their two boys.
  • First - happy birthday Amanda! You're still young, don't worry! :)

Those cupcakes and treats looked delicious Brea! Good luck on the house hunting- it's really exciting to live vicariously through you! Even if it is a roller coaster.

Amanda- I hear ya on the fight breaking out, it sucks when you see disturbing things. While driving out to the coast we were near forks (yes like twilight) and we were one of the first few cars that came across a really horrible rollover crash. It was so scary, the windshield was all cracked, the truck was on it's side and had rolled a few times into the shoulder. A bystander had an ax and was about to bust in the car to get the lady out. It made me cry actually, death is super freaky to me. Anyway, we looked it up yesterday when we got home and turns out this 46 yr old lady was high or drunk. :( They had to airlift her to seattle. Crazy. (sorry that got a lil long winded)

And Brandi and Brea - you gotta do Zumba! Seriously, I felt like it was a fad and cheesy since so many ladies are obsessed, well now I'm starting to see why. It's soo fun and really the steps aren't hard to follow at all. AND - I was sore the next day! I have taken a few spin classes, aqua zumba and can run for miles and I'm usually never sore, zumba left me pleasantly sore!  I went alone for my first day last week and wanna do it again this week, the good part for me though is that our gym is really new so a lotta newbies are taking the classes for the first time too, so we all are off a bit.

  • I might have to try it soon then! I love feeling pleasantly sore :) I did Body Pump yesterday and I'm really feeling it in my chest, shoulders, upper back and glutes!
  • Ok, I'm really tempted to try Zumba this week. Hopefully I get off in time to try it Thursday night :0)
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMANDA!!

We had a really nice weekend. Saturday we drove up to Portsmouth NH and walked around, had lunch and then bought some lobsters and steamers home to cook for dinner. Sunday and Monday we went to our friends Dan and Jen's house for a cookout. Sunday was the actual cookout/party, Monday was us eating the leftovers. Saw some fireworks and had a great time!

Starting back waiting tables again today. A little anxious but we'll see. Can't wait to start school in the fall!

    Photobucket Anniversary
  • Please tell me that I'm not the only one who caught Amanda saying she turned "50 years old" today!!!  hahaha, I laugh because I said the same thing to DH when he turned 25 last year and he was like say whattttt?!?  Ah hahahaha!  Quarter of a century!  I am right there with you in 13 days!

DH told me he was going to the apple store and then to the rental house.  Made me smile that he's calling his house the rental house instead of "home".  YAY!!!  It's been SUPER DUPER nice not having to say "your house or my house" to stay at every single night!  He's moving most of his stuff over today!

We need to find new renters for his house starting Aug because his roommates decided to tell us the day of our AHR that they're moving out.  Awesome guys.  You deserve a kick in the shin from my 6 yr cousin for inappropriate timing.

  • Seriously Sarah, they waited till the AHR to let you know.  What d bags.
  • Amen. And then one brought his 18 yr old gf who was dressed like she should have been working at the bunny ranch.  I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped when I saw her.  I should have a talk with her and say I know you just graduated hs and this was probably your first big girl event...but you should keep your whorish clothes for vegas when you turn of age in 3 years.

LMAO! You absolutely should have said that!

And how sweet about "home" and the "rental house"

Love it. :) Welcome back, missy!

HAHA!  At least she didn't wear white right?

  • I wouldn't wish bimbos in white on anyone. I almost had a Bride Wars moment when I was walking down the aisle and saw that girl in the seats, thank goodness I saw Stephens face next! Stupid roommates of your DH Sarah, at least now you don't have to spend all evening with them in the same house :0).
  • OMG I know, I'm so glad I won't have to deal with them anymore.  Nothing like an 18 yr old trying to peer pressure you into stuff. Dumb.
