I didn't get enough sleep last night. I'm cranky.
Re: Tuesday Randoms
I was told I needed to try Real Food cafe for breakfast. I had never heard of this place until yesterday.
I know, I hate it when the 4th is on a weeknight. Our neighbors were doing fireworks until at least 11pm last night.
We had so much fun in Manistee at my parent's condo this weekend. The weather couldn't have been better. Hudson loved his first parade and got a ton of candy!
I'm officially in my 2nd trimester! I can't believe it!
I was so beat last night, the fireworks didn't keep me up. The alarm clock in Allison's room accidently went off at midnight, so the CD she was listening to went off accidently. When I got up for that, i could hear a ton of fireworks going off.
We went to a parade too and the girls loved it. Amelia was really getting into it, esp collecting the candy. She kept asking when someone was going to come along next to hand out candy.
Congrats on the 2nd trimester.
We had a great weekend. Now I'm trying to figure out some random things for Mere's Minnie Mouse birthday (she picked). Have any of you used cookie/lollipop sticks before? I'm thinking of doing cookies on a stick instead of cake, but I'm not sure what size or style (paper or plastic) to buy.
"Good moorning to youuu.. Good morning to youuu. I'm happy to see you, I'm happy to be with you. We will work and play and have a great day."
The girls get a set of CDs and books to go along with what they are learning in daycare and this is one of their songs. They love their CDs and we have to listen to them all the time.
Wop, I'm with you on all three items this morning!
My cold has turned into a cough that keeps me up at night. I'm exhausted.
We had an awesome 4th - Beach in the AM, cookout in the afternoon, then downtown for the fireworks. Ben LOVED them, he kept saying "oh wow!" and "boom boom like thunder" lol silly kid!
But of course we leave for our concert weekend in Chicago Friday and I am starting to get sick. Bring on the dayquil
Have you tried Vick's Vapor Rub on your feet? If not, give it a try. It works like a charm in my house. Usually within 5 minutes the hubby or kids stop coughing.
On feet really? I've never heard of putting it on your feet. Do you put socks on too so it doesn't get all over the sheets? I haven't used Vick's in years. I always thought you rubbed on your chest. Interesting. I may have to try this.

I have not heard of this either. Weird! I don't think I've ever purchased Vick's.
Glad so many of you had fun on the 4th. Ours was interesting. We were with my in-laws, so not my first choice. When we pulled up I saw that my MIL was in a swimsuit cover up. I thought "Oh how nice she is ready to enjoy the water with us." Eh not so much - no bathing suit under that super short cover-up. Just white lacy underwear that kept getting flashed in my and Henry's faces. We tried to avoid it, but it was difficult when I need to watch Henry during certain activities and she kept sitting crossed legged in front of us! What is wrong with this women??
Then the next morning, she had a low cut flowy nightgown on during breakfast. No bra! She kept bending over to play with Henry and flash some more of her goodies. Maybe this makes me a prude, but I am in the "cover-up for company" camp.
But I made a big pitcher of margaritas with fresh lime juice and that made the weekend a little more enjoyable.
You can put socks on. Usually within a few minutes it is absorbed into your feet so it isn't too greasy.
I think Brian always thought I was nuts for doing this with the kids. One night he had a really bad cough and I was working from home that night. I finally went upstairs grabbed the Vicks, went back to the living room, took his socks off and put the Vicks on his feet. I went back to the office and timed it. Within four minutes he wasn't coughing anymore. Now he is on Team Vicks.
Putting it on the feet is alway better for real little ones. It can be a bit too strong on their feet.
"Cover up for company camp" :giggle snort:
I am tired. I dont want to be at work today. My 42 year old brother had a heart attack over the weekend so that brought on some craziness. He will be ok.
I am amazed.
Hoektastic, you are officially invited to join my Crazy Mother Inlaw Support Group. (Hey, I just thought of that. I should invent that. There will be alcohol at all meetings.) Yours sounds like a doozie. Wow.
GVSUbride, what is the benefit to applying Vick's to the feet instead of the chest? Just curious. I've never used Vick's. I'm intrigued though.
Ha! I'm in. When is the next meeting?
I know it's not Tuesday anymore, but I'm just catching up.
We're all about Vicks on the feet too. Works nicely.
Hoek, I'm sorry about the show you guys got. Yikes!
