Termite/Pest Control Recs?
Has anybody used Terminex or any other similar company for termite/pest control? Any recommendations or warnings? I'm in Howard County if anybody has a rec for a local company.
I demo'd our basement stairs over the weekend and found some really substantial termite damage. It's all old damage - no active infestations, it it seems to be limited to just the stairwell (since we've ripped out darn near everything else and haven't found any other damage), but we want to get somebody out to look at it and give us a quote for a treatment plan going forward.

I use Home Paramount for our Pest control. Like pp I have their yearly service contract and have been happy with their service.
My house was treated for termites years before we bought it. The home owners continued to pay an "insurance" against re-investation so we were able to pick that up when we moved in. That is through Orkin, but we haven't had to deal with them at all, just paid the bill to keep the house covered (which was about $215 I believe).

We have 2 contracts (one for termites, one for general pests) with Annapolis Pest Control and have been happy with them.
The previous owner of our house used Terminix and we briefly kept that contract in place. They had put in those bait stations and then wouldn't remove them (even after they had someone come out and give us an up-sell to upgrade, since thise bait stations are out of date.) Their quote was ridic.
