Re: How was your weekend?

  • Weekend was good and bad. Saturday we ripped up everything in the garden and replanted. It was a lot of work, but the tomatoes were ready to go and getting gross. Figured we better do it now and get the new stuff planted asap. The neighbor stealing our tomatoes lit a fire under DH's butt :)

We also rented a Rug Doctor from Lowe's and steam cleaned our whole house. It was actually not that bad! It was a bit of work but the machine worked really well and it wasn't too pricey. Definitely recommend it! We rented it for $21, then bought $30 worth of cleaners, but only used half so when we rent it again in 6 mo. we won't have to pay for them. We did the whole house in about 2 hours, then went back over a few spots later on, about another hour.

The rest of the weekend DH worked camps so I made tons of freezer meals. Not exactly fun, but very productive!

  • We had a busy weekend! Friday, we got a Uhaul and moved some furniture from our house to the IL's new house. Saturday and Sunday, we painted all day (living room, foyer, hallway, nursery). Sunday, I finished painting the nursery and we went to my mom's for dinner.

  • Same for us. Good and bad moments this weekend. Friday night we went to Home Depot and spent way too much money getting things we needed for the house. It was all necessary, and we had the money but it still made me twitch a little. When we got home we parked on International Golf Drive to watch the WGV fireworks.

Saturday I drove to my parents', picked up my mom to go to Garden Ridge, and then when we stopped at the gas station before heading to Regency, my car died. My battery is completely shot. It's still on their side of town though so I probably won't have it back until this coming weekend. On the plus side, we got some really nice bar stools at Garden Ridge for a great price so I was happy.

Sunday we tackled the jungle that is our backyard. It was a lot of work, and there's still a lot to do but it already looks much better. Then we made dinner and relaxed for the rest of the night.

Yesterday we were going to the beach early but the perfect desk for my office popped up on craigslist and the guy wanted it gone asap so we went to pick it up. The desk is great and was a good deal so I'm really happy. We got to the beach way later than expected and it was crazy busy. We didn't stay very long because DH got a stomachache and then his truck got stuck when we tried to leave...that was fun. Oh, and several indicator lights came on in his truck so now we have to have it looked at. Double fun. DH worked on a lab report the rest of the day (with my help) and then we made dinner and watched True Blood.

We got a lot accomplished house-wise this weekend so I'm really happy but all this car trouble is a big fat pain in the ass.

  • Pretty much sucked. My new iphone4 went in the pool yesterday and I am now phoneless and SOL. I didn't get anything accomplished around the house. I ate way too much. I tried to touch up paint the walls and the paint color no longer matches. I got 4,290 mosquito bites. My shipment of paper for my prints were damaged in the mail and I have no backup.

The best part of my weekend was buying a $4 jar set for the kitchen. And the patron shots.

  • I'm still having a great weekend. DH & I took today off and b/c of my normal days off I don't go back to work until Friday. Saturday H & I went around town looking at gas grills and out to dinner. Sunday I finally talked him into buying a grill and SIL came over so we could go pick it up with her SUV. I made crockpot French Dips (found the blog link on WC, they were awesome if anyone wants the link.) Yesterday I mowed the grass and then we spent the day watching Mad Men. No fireworks or crowds. Today we're grilling with MIL and SIL.

  • We had a great weekend, getting lots done for a change! Friday was DH's birthday (and he had the day off), so we went to get a new edger (his parents' birthday gift, lol), and he edged the yard. I swear it hadn't been done for at least a year! Saturday we got back out there and cut the grass and did some cleaning up. Sunday was church, a few errands, and dinner at Sticky Fingers! Yesterday, DH had to do a 21 gun salute at work, so I had the babysitter come over while I got some cleaning done. When he got home, he finally put up the boys' ceiling fan, and then we went and bought a new TV (DH's parents' housewarming gift), since Jeffery broke our last one.

Only real downside was I think I'm allergic to some greenery outside. A couple weeks ago I was itching everywhere, and assumed it was a new lotion that I used. Saturday night it started again, and I realized that last time was right after helping outside too, so now I have to go get allergy tested. In the meantime, I can't take Benadryl because it knocked me on my arse last time I tried it!

  • I had a very busy weekend but had a lot of fun!

Friday night we went to Nippers for a friends birthday. I love it there and can't wait to go back and enjoy a yummy frozen cocktail. Saturday we met with a doula who we really like and has made me more confident in my decision to have a natural birth. Saturday night we went to Orsay for dinner and then to Cirqu Du Solieil. Which was absolutley amazing. Sunday I went church and then lounged at the pool all afternoon. Yesterday we went to St Marys GA to the aquatic center with some friends and their kids. We came back to Jax and had dinner at La Nop then watched the fireworks from the South Bank.

  • Great weekend here....Dh is away at work so it is just me and the baby, which is fine by me for now!  During the days we just lounged around the house.  Saturday evening we went to the "Scallop Jam" in old town Crystal River, then to some friends' house on the bay for fireworks.  Sunday night a cookout and boat ride with some older friends and then last night another cookout with all of my "baby and kid" friends.  We had a blast but we are tired, especially since Jamie keeps waking uo at 7 and not going back to sleep with me, so we have to get up until his nap at 9 or 10.

Exciting!  I love my doula, she was a HUGE support system for me during labor with B :)

Our weekend was nice - I had family in town visiting (grandma, 2 aunts, 3 female cousins) so we spent the weekend mostly shopping.  Yesterday B and Adam made blueberry pancakes for breakfast, we hung out at the house for a bit, then ran some errands.

We spent a good chunk of time this weekend shopping for new rugs and curtains to go with our new living room furniture.. my nesting instinct kicked in last week and I convinced DH to move all of our living room furniture out to the back porch so I could polish our hardwood floors.. then it started pouring.  Our couch, loveseat and wool rugs were ruined :(

Nothing like dropping a few thousand dollars to replace your entire living room two weeks before you have another baby because of a stupid mistake!

I would not get allergy tested just for that. Allergy testing is a horrible experience, at least for me it was since I'm allergic to everything. Just take some OTC antihistamine like Zyrtec before yardwork and call it a day.

My weekend was relaxing. I watched a lot of movies with DH around the house, went to a BBQ Sunday night with some friends. I was supposed to go to the beach but that didn't happen (see Tirade post).

  • Great low key weekend! Didn't get much accomplished, but it will all be there when I get home today.
