So we booked Hawthorn Country Club for next Friday for our AHR reception! We had invited 145 people but we're down to 93 people are dropping like flies! And we have to pay for 125... They're only making us pay $15 for the empty plates but right now that's $480.00!!!

Yikes! That's awful

So sorry to hear that. That's my biggest fear since my parents are paying for it and they aren't in the best shape financially right now. I don't want them paying for empty seats

I'm waiting for the lady I had been dealing with to come in to see if I can work something out! I'm hoping so because that's $500 towards a house!

Exactly! There are a lot of things $500 can go towards other than empty seats and empty plates. Hopefully they understand.

Will they let you upgrade the food or drinks?  I know it's spending money but if you have to have a minimum it would be better to upgrade then to just loose it.

I didn't think of that! I will try to see if they can move us to a smaller room and we pay for something in exchange so they're not really loosing money but we're gaining a service!

So there's nothing they can do So we're going to piss away $500 on empty seats! Ugh maybe I'm just being a b*tch but this is aggravating who would have thought we'd invite over 150 people and only 92 would actually be going!

That's terrible!! I don't see why they can't do something to accommodate you....even knock a little off the price! I would be so pissed too! I am sorry hun People can be so inconsiderate when it comes to these things. I hope you can find a way to work it out!

Invite more people and cover the cost!  Parent's friends? Coworkers? Neighbors? Whatever, people will understand.  I am right there with you considering that I had at least over 20 not show up this weekend.  That was at least $800 spent for no reason besides we have jerkos in our life.

YES! Like we even talked to some people the day of the reception and they were coming.

Some yes some no... We had invited over 150 and when the RSVPs came in we were at 123, which was dealable but now all these people are backing out and it's driving me nuts! Final payment is due next Wednesday, we can add to our count but can't take away from it so we're stuck paying for 92 adults and 6 children (kids plates are $7 so I won't b*tch about them lol) 

 

So if you ladies are available friday July 15th at 6:30 feel free to come to our AHR lol! I'd love for you ladies to come but I know it's basically impossible!
