Serenbe

Does anyone have experience with this area? Since I don't think DH and I will be able to take a trip this summer, I wanted to go someplace for a night just to get away. I was thinking about going to the inn here and having dinner then going to their playhouse. For those that have been, do you think this is worth doing and is the town fun to walk around for an afternoon? Or should I save my money?

Re: Serenbe

  • It would be fun for a night, but I wouldn't stay for a few days. There isn't much to do there. There are a few shops and some restaurants all on the main street. Only the Farmhouse restaurant isn't on the main street. You can also do a farm tour of their organic farm. They offer horse trail rides, and there are running trails. Check out their website for the list of events. I know they have a lot going on this summer.

The Farmhouse restaurant is among our favorites. It's amazing. There is a full review in my bio. The Blue Eyed Daisy is a nice cafe.

It's great cycling country, though! We ride down there all the time.

  • Thanks for the advice. I may decide to just go down there to spend the day and to eat (I'm craving this fried chicken lunch they have) but not stay the night. Some of the reviews for the inn on tripadvisor were a tad scary.
  • I have been there twice with retreats for my work to the Inn at Serenbe. We love it out there. We never left the inn because of we actually had to do work! But it is quite and beautiful and the drive is long enough that you really feel like you're away! The resturant is more realistically farm to table than any of our trendy resturants in the city. I mean they literally walk out to the farm, get the food and cook it! The only draw back is you must eat what ever was fresh that day, if that's not up your alley, too bad! The rooms are all different and really quaint. I highly recommend it.
