Getting to Racine-- Help out an OOT Nestie :)

Hi ladies!

I'm a Cincinnati nestie, and DH and I are looking for a way to get from Chicago to Racine, WI.  Are there any public transit systems we could use to make this happen?  Who/what should we look to for more information?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

~Jen :)

  • Amtrak will get you from Chicago to Racine. Theres also a Metra train that will get you to Kenosha for 1/2 the price. But then you'd have to take a Coach bus from Kenosha to Racine.

Are you sure?  I used to take the Hiawatha to MKE all of the time; it's stops are: Glenview, Sturtevant, MKE Aiport and MKE.

Sturtevant would be the closest stop; but it's about 8miles away; I'm not sure that cabs are prevelant in that area to get you to racine.

Sturtevant is IN Racine. But yes it will depend on where in Racine you're going. Sturtevant is the south end of Racine so if you're going farther in, you'd have to take a cab or bus. Cabs may be on the outside of the train station or they could give you a number to call.

Oh thanks for the correction! I never realized that; I guess I just thought of them as two nearby cities
  • Thanks so much for the help, ladies!  We'll be taking Amtrak to Sturtevant, and having a friend pick us up at the station.

Can't wait to visit Chicago again.  I love your city and ALWAYS have a great time!
