I know its not TMI Thurs but I have a question

I noticed this morning while in the shower I noticed some bumps around my one leg's bikini line. I also the last few days noticed some small bumps around my ring finger. I did not do any yardwork that would make it likely it is poison ivy, which I'm highly allergic to. I have had bumps on my hands after washing them often and soap not being washed off seems to do that.

My question is have you had bumps like this before around the bikini line? It doesn't itch much, just a little. And if so how long does it take to go away? If it's from shaving which I have been doing more frequently I never had it before so I'm just a little nervous about it. Thanks for your input!

  • Yeah, ususally its just from shaving if that happens to me. I hope you figure it out ASAP!

  • Mine is usually from shaving. However I have had a couple bumps around my ring finger because it gets warm and sweaty which could also be a problem on the bikini line.
  • The bikini line sounds like it could be ingrown hairs or heat rash.  Not sure about on your finger though....

  • Thanks I feel better already from you three responding. I have had heat rash before on my calf when I was in Daytona years ago, and am hoping it doesn't visit me again. I was out Saturday sunbathing, at the BBQs and yesterday while it was pretty roasty toasty outside vacuumed my car, so that is another possibility.

    Thanks again!

  • Ugh poison ivy is the devil. I am so allergic that if it gets anywhere close to my face I have to go to the hospital because it will swell my airways and eyes shut so I have to be super careful out in the yard. What you have sounds like a rash from shaving around your bikini line. I will get it if I dont moisturize properly before shaving. The bumps on your finger sound odd though. If you have calamine I would put some on there just to be safe.

  • The bikini line definitely sounds like razor burn, I get that all the time. If you buy some Tend Skin or a similar product and apply it once a day that should help.

I have had bumps on my ring finger off and on for several months now. In my case I know that I have an allergy to certain metals, which is why I got a platinum ring. Even though I got sized my ring is a little too big, especially in winter, so I had a band put in the inside about 6 months ago - and I suspect that I am allergic to the band. I just put up with it, it's better than my ring falling off! And I don't want to get it resized yet because some woman's ring size changes from pregnancy.

What helps me with the ring finger issues is to take off my ring when sleeping, showering, and washing my hands; and I always make sure my finger is completely dry when putting the ring back on. I put some A&D ointment on my finger when it gets really bad.

  • Not sure what the finger should be but I agree that the bikini line sounds like razor burn. I have such a difficult time with razor burn @ my bikini line that about 2 or 3 years ago I gave up & now I get waxed every 4 to 5 weeks. It's sooo much better.
