Re: how was your weekend?

  • mine was great! i actually took some time away from work which is hard when you have a home office. i watched a lot of the casey anthony stuff and finished painting our guestroom. i also painted the chest i got at the thrift store and a coffee table which i finished up this morning. i also cat sat and went to a cookout at the IL's.

highlight: was the cookout and my MIL and SIL bitching about their out of town guests when they were out of the room. they crack me up.

lowlight: i am trying to wean off of zoloft and i am having horrible nausea. it kept me awake last night so at 10 p.m. i went to CVS and got some benedryl and some nausea meds. i really hope it goes away soon.

  • It was nice enough.  We didn't do much any day except yesterday.  The four of us went across the lake to visit friends who have kids our kids' ages.  It was fun to see Gabby really come out of her shell and interact with the kids - she was laughing and talking and rough-housing.  She's still pretty shy (for example in the kids' playroom, she laughed and cheered when the little boy would jump from the headboard of a daybed onto the mattress  - you know, fearless toddler stuff - but she wouldn't do it herself, until everyone had left the room, she went back in alone - and I could see her in a reflection of the glass door from where I was sitting nursing Genna, but she didn;t know this - and she would climb up and throw herself down onto the mattress a couple of times before I got J to run in there and make sure she didn't hurt herself.  when the other kids returned, she stopped immediately and just watched from the "sidelines."  my shy little girl).

We got home late, then bathed the kids and packed them into the stroller all pajama'd up and went out to the lake to see the fireworks.  Gabby loved it and her new favorite word is "fi-ya-woks."  Haha.

    Ok, I'll shut up now.

  • we actually had a really nice weekend. nice, long, relaxing, beautiful weather...

Friday night we went to dinner with my IL's. It was nice.

Saturday I did some errands and worked out while H went fishing. Then we went on the boat for the afternoon and had a great cookout with friends at night by the fire. Complete with s'mores.

Sunday I went to a cookout with my family at the beach. It was nice. I can't remember what we did Sunday night. I think we may have just chilled out.

Yesterday was a good day too. H went out on the boat with his dad and I stayed home bored out of my mind. He got home in the afternoon and then we hit up WalMart to pick up the necessities that we need for our trip, since we're leaving Thursday.

I'm at work today and it's my only day this week that I'm working. WOOHOO and HIGH FIVE for being on vacation mode!!

  • The weekend was pretty low key.  We finally started bringing DS out to run errands with us and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  My lack of sleep is catching up to me though and I almost passed out at a BBQ yesterday.  I need to learn to nap during the day more often.  Boo.

  • It sucked.. I worked all freaking weekend and didnt get to anything 4th of july related. Yesterday was particularly bad. It was my 3rd 12 hr shift in a row, I was dead tired and the ER was psychotic. Then walking out to my care I stepped off the curb wrong and twisted my ankle. Its not really swollen but its really kind of bothering me today. B went back down the beach yesterday and is staying down until Thursday. Of course I am off today and tomorrow so its just me and the girls (Raven and Puddin).

  • our weekend was good...busy and quick though. i love the 4th of july...one of my favorite holidays...so i have a lot of traditions that i love to do this weekend. on fri night i had a night out with some friends at a restaurant for a few hours so that was nice. nothing crazy...just a glass of wine or two and some dinner. Sat we did yard work. sunday we took B to a splash pad earlier in the day and then to my dad's later that afternoon for a neighborhood cookout (and more pool time). B had SO much fun playing with the other kids. the older kids had fun pulling the little kids in a wagon around the cul-de-sac. it was neat to see B play with other kids like Nola said. Yesterday we went to the 4th of July parade in the suburb we just moved to...and it wasnt the same as what i was used to growing up. pretty pathetic actually. i think we're going to stick to the other suburb from now on. after that we party-hopped a little bit...ended up at the same party i've been going to for 15 years to watch fireworks. sent B home with my mom around 8pm bc he was SO tired. hated going back to work today...it was hard!

  • Eden- I know that weening feeling. If you want an ear, PM me here or on FB.

As for the weekend... How can I say MOST AMAZING WEEKEND EVER? Oh.. I just did! J signed on to work EMS for a festival down in Maryland. All my friend told me was: it's in the woods, we have "cabin", there will be "hippies", the music will be techno music going on 24hrs a day, bring a flashlight. That was it. The techno music sent me into a panic because the beats have been known to trigger seizures for me.. and 24 hours with no escape made me almost step out of it and just send J. We get there, and our "cabin" is a room in a house with running hot water showers and "flushies" (toilets) There were 8 stages, all playing different house music, none of which was heard at the house. The medic tent was next to the house so I was fine. The land we were on was beautiful.. It was 200 acres of private land on the Sesquehanna River. Friday night it was so dark, we saw the Milky Way. Mindblowing. The ower was awesome, and said he bought the land specifically for festivals and gatherings for people in "alternative" lifestyles. There were a LOT of drugs going around and being done in the open, and a LOT of nekkid people, but nothing seemed too alt to me, but Saturday night they had a "burn" I was at an east coast Burning Man. It was beautiful. Everyone we worked with (there were other medics, nurses, rangers, security) were beyond amazing, and we're keeping in touch with each one of them. I fell in love with humanity all over again. I could gush about it for the next 12 hours, but I'll refrain. I'm so happy we went, and we're exploring working at another one in September (we were told we were working it.. volunteered by others lol) And the music didn't bother me at all.. even when I was at the stages. Monday night we danced until 7:30 in the morning. It was an amazing party!

One big highlight: I didn't get a single bug bite the entire weekend! No mosquitoes, horse flies, chiggers, ticks, spiders.. nada! The big lowlight: I get home and get eaten by bedbugs. We're reinfested :(
