Casey Anthony trial

NOT GUILTY? How many times did she change her story? That woman is insane and completely guilty. I'm at a loss for words, its just so horrible.

Re: Casey Anthony trial

  • I am right there with you.  You know someone paid that jury out big time.  Out of control!!
  • I didn't follow the trial at all, but I have a friend on Facebook who said this and I think it's worth thinking about:

I haven't been following the trial at all, but just remember: the jurors have been isolated from the sensationalist media that you all have been using to form your opinions. Hope this helps.

    He then later commented saying:

Again, I haven't followed the case at all, but the point of the trial is to determine if she actually did what she did, and to what degree. Obviously the jurors saw it differently in the courtroom than we did at home through our 24/7 media filters. "Getting to 'beyond a reasonable doubt' from circumstantial evidence is not easy and it shouldn't be. Doesn't make it any less heartbreaking."

As a former law major, unfortunately I have to say that the system is in place the way it is is to protect the innocent. Whether or not she was innocent, it needed to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. If they had any doubt she couldn't be convicted.

And in case it was blatantly obvious that she did it (which I don't know because I know nothing about it) then I'm wrong. :P

  • Oh I totally got you.  I watched it on different news channels to get different views.  IMO, I have a hard time believing that there were enough jurors that didn't hear anything at all about the case prior though.  It was huge and obviously missing children is so widely spread because of Amber.  They make a point to make sure that everyone at the time knows there is a missing child.  I think the evidence was lacking and that's what happened.  But at the same point, evidence was lacking to prove her innocent as well.  Nothing ever added up which was the problem.  Things that were brought up should have had not because they weren't related to the death.  No matter what, I do hope there is some justice for Caylee because the story is just extremely sad.
  • I'm having a hard time with the whole she waited 31 DAYS to report her missing! That alone screams guilt to me!
  • Argh, I can't post from my phone, so I've been itching to reply.

I might be biased since I work for law enforcement but I really think she is guilty! I can't believe these jurors, I really hope we do get to hear from a few of them and see why they decided on not guilty. I think being a defense attorney would be such a hard job, morally I could never do it. There are way too many things that make her look guilty, why would she lie so much?! So if they really think she didn't do it, then who did? Her Dad?! I'm not buying it. It's disappointing and disgusting to me.

  • My problem lies with the fact that first she was reported missing WAY late, and then it was revealed that she drown by "accident". I mean the whole thing is just mind boggling that a woman who changed her story so many times can come off completely free. No child neglect, no manslaughter. Its really quite sad.
  • Exactly Brandi, she needed some type of charge against her for child neglect.  That is what is blowing my mind.

I haven't watched any of this.  But I completely agree.  How is she not guilty of something?  I mean geez people get locked up for way less.  But your child can go missing for 30 days and you don't report it and then she's found dead.  IDK, it just doesn't seem right.

I totally agree. People have been talking about this all day on my club board and on the bow and it seems to be a general consensus that she should have at least gotten charged with child abuse.

     This!

I didn't follow the full story just bits and pieces here and there but is a shame that she got away with it. It gets me so mad! Some people just don't deserve the gift of parenthood. Does anyone know if the father was ever involved?

  • I heard on the radio Caylee's father died in a car accident in 2007 on Cape Cod... Don't know how true it is but it still makes me sad that no one has gotten punished for what they did to a CHILD!
  • And now she's getting freed this week...unbelievable.
