Does anyone know how to get rid of yucca plants? I have been able to pull them out before, but they grow back. I want to get rid of them for good, but don't want to kill the rest of the plants in the garden.
Re: Yucca Plants
These are such a p.i.t.a. to get rid of. You have to just keep digging further down and pull out every piece of root that you see. Even small pieces will take hold and grow a plant out of them.
We had 2 in one of our flowerbeds when we moved in and it took at least 4 years to totally get rid of them.

I am a huge fan of Round Up. Whenever you cut something back, spray the cut or the roots you have exposed with a little round up. Revisit and repeat treatment. Be careful with it, Round Up will kill anything it touches. Protect plants near it with plastic or whatever may help you keep the spray/liquid off of it. It's also not a treatment for a "green" gardener, but it will get rid of whatever your garden nemesis is if you are diligent with treatments.
Just my 2 cents. I HATE YUCCAS. Or should I say, I can't stand Yucca owners who don't cut back the flower once it's done.
This is my public service announcement: if you ever own one. Take a few seconds and deadhead! Trim the damn thing back. It looks buttugly if you don't and you look like a lazy gardener.
