As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. I'm trying to get in the habit of saying twenty-eleven, since that's how I think the century will eventually end up (saying "twenty"). By the time we get to, say, 2027, it will be much too cumbersome to be saying "two thousand twenty seven."
I think it was easy in the aughts to say "two thousand one" because it's short...however, the previous decades all started with "eighteen," "nineteen," etc., so it's logical to start this one with "twenty."
What she said. Nobody called my graduation year "one thousand nine hundred ninety nine."
I find that I, annoyingly, tend to slur the words together, and usually end up saying "Twenteleven."
