I'm sorry, I just can't get over this case

Casey Anthony is being released from jail on July 13th.  Unbelievable.

Re: I'm sorry, I just can't get over this case

  • I read that one juror is saying that there was just not enough evidence to convict her of what happened but that they believe she is guilty of killing Caylee. It's just really really sad. I think they were too ambitious with the charges. Too bad they couldn't try her on different charges. it just sickens me.
  • She got the max -- nothing else Judge could have done.

Totally agree that the prosecutors were overzealous. They didn't even charge her w/ child neglect.

  • Will her mom get charged because she lied on the stand?
  • It seems like she probably would have been found guilty if the charges were lessened. And definitely child neglect should have been one of the charges.....it's just shocking really.

Although I have to admit its also shocking with some of the things people are saying. I took a peek as some of the facebook groups that have formed since and some things that these people say are BRUTAL

Perjury is a HARD charge to prove -- because if you said two different things, how can they prove which one is the lie, ya know? I would be surprised if they charged her because how embarrassing would it be to lose TWO Anthony trials??? But I don't really know the whole story behind it so who knows?

  • I was just refering to her saying SHE looked up chloroform on her home computer but them having her clocked in at work during those times. That seemed pretty cut and dry to me but admittedly I don't know all that much about trial law.
  • I heard the same thing as Amanda this morning.  I also heard a juror say "not guilty does not mean innocent".  I just trully feel sorry for the little girl.  Nothing can ever bring her back and that is just sad.

I can't BELIVE that they didn't charge her with neglect. At least that would have been a slam dunk.

Don't you just feel so ba for that jury. They knew she was guilty but b/c it couldn't be proven they had to find her not guilty. It's just sad all the way around.

You totally hit the nail on the head there.

  • She was actually tried for child abuse and they found her not guilty. I don't remember the reasoning.

Unfortunately this is the justice system that we have set up in this country and personally I think it's despicable that people are making death threats against the family. She was charged, she was tried, she was found innocent by a jury of her peers. I'm not happy about it, but it's the law. That little girl will never get true justice, but hopefully nobody does anything really stupid, because it seems like people are really fired up about the whole thing.

They basically said they were crying about their decision, but there was nothing they could do differently. I would hate to be a jury member knowing that I have to live with that decision for the rest of my life. And I think I would be little afraid of people finding out who I was, because like I said, people are really fired up about this case and that would terrify me.

I know!!!!!!  I mean, I get that the evidence was not there to convict her of murder, but it's CLEAR she neglected her.  Amazing.  That poor little girl.  Will anyone ever know what really happened?
