recommend a decent netbook

DH's is shot, won't even turn on anymore I guess. He's away for work as you all know and just needs to be able to get online to look at work stuff, ie. what trains are called, who's working what jobs, when he's going to go to work, if/when he needs to lay off, etc. No downloading anything, just web surfing otherwise.

What is a good little netbook? I'll have to have it shipped to him and he needs one asap.

I am mac fan. They cost a little more but will outlast any PC brand and our immune to viruses. I think computers are one of those things that you get what you pay for. If you pay for a cheap computer you will get a cheap computer that most likely won't last.

I agree with you but i'm only looking for a NETbook, not a NOTEbook. We only spend about $250 total on his from the mart and it's lasted about 2-2 1/2 years so eh, good enough for us when you really can't do anything on it. Plus I think it was in his locker at work for probably 4 months or so. He doesn't use it much, only when he is on "the other end of the road", meaning he takes a train to another yard and spends the night there (ie. KC). Of course now he needs one to use everyday while he's gone. The one he has now is an Acer Aspire One. I guess i'll go to the Mart tomorrow to shop around.

H - we have one we may possibly sell you. Let me check with DH when he gets home. He bought it from Best Buy when he worked there and it's honestly been used probably less than a dozen times. We thought it would be great for travel, but we now both have smart phones.
