***TTT & SBP***

Can we hear more about the babies and maybe see some more pictures? I know as new moms, updating your internet folk is not top priority, but I would love to hear how things are going!

Best!

  • Agreed. The people need baby pictures.
  • I move to have weekly updates - that's not too much, is it?

  • I agree with this statement as well :)

  • Sure! I didn't want to post stuff and be an AW, but if you're asking for it... :)?

    ?

sst is doing well! she went to the pediatrician earlier this week and she's almost back to her birthweight already (adding to things I didn't know about babies - they lose weight their first few days). The pediatrician said that's excellent for a breastfed baby, so we were really happy about that.?

Breastfeeding is hard! I knew it would be, but it's really demanding. It's gone relatively well, actually, and I've been very lucky that she took to it right away, but just the simple fact that there are NO breaks ever is hard. It's hard for DH too, because obviously it's something he simply can't do and can't help me with, and he gets frustrated with that. He has been SO amazing though, with taking care of the baby and taking care of me - I think I've fallen in love with him all over again.?

And speaking of falling in love, I still can't believe how much I love this baby. It's almost scary. I just stare at her for the longest time. I used to kind of roll my eyes when my mom or someone said something about how awful childbirth is but it's so worth it, but now I understand - my labor was NOT a fun experience, but I would do it all over again for her.

I'm also so glad we waited to find out the sex! It was so much fun to hear "it's a girl!" and then to tell everybody when she was born that it was a girl. ?

Oh and I'm going to post a bunch more pics on my Facebook too.?

Thanks for updating us!? I have a question, and I feel like an idiot for not knowing - how soon are you supposed to find a pediatrician?? And did you call someone before sst was even born?? I don't know when we're supposed to do that!

I didn't know that either! Everyone else on the baby boards seemed to have their pediatrician when they were 6 months pregnant, but we didn't have one until after she was born. I asked the pediatrician who saw her in the hospital for a recommendation (our insurance doesn't have a single in-network pediatrician in the city, so it didn't matter who we chose, it would be out of network anyway), called that day and made an appointment for the next week. Piece of cake. ?And I really, really like the pediatrician too.

Thank you so much!? I feel so much better.? Our OB was talking about setting up interviews and things with different pediatricians, and I'm not really comfortable interviewing potential doctors.? That helps!

Yeah I felt weird about the whole "interview your doctor" thing too, and honestly I don't think it's that big a deal. There's a pediatrician at the hospital that will see the baby right after its born. At the first visit, they don't do anything except look at the baby and weigh it. If you don't like the pediatrician, you can find another one before the visits get very involved (vaccines don't start until 1 month, for example). But I think it's best to ask for a recommendation either from another parent or a pediatrician.?

    ?

lyss, are you going to find out the sex?? Have you started thinking about names yet? ?When is your ultrasound?
