My dad is 69.
My dad has retired to OOB.
My dad has spent the last 8 hours making it possible for me to have an electric garage opener in my garage. Currently, he has taken a 20 minute break in order to zip over to the bike store to have them repair a part on his bicycle (the one he rides for 50-100 miles per week). But he'll be back to help us finish.
My dad freaking ROCKS.
I love my dad!

Re: My dad (rave)
That's so great! My FIL is like that (minus the retired and bicycle riding part) - he's very handy and always willing to help us with tricky house projects.
Awesome!!! I love awesome dads!!! I need to stain the new porch stairs he put in last month. My dad drove 6 1/2 hours with his saw in back....planning to replace our stairs. We didn't even ask him to do it!!!
He also came with the supplies to make Adrian this. We love the BOG (Bald Old Grandpa).
There is no way this garage door would have happened without my dad. We had to put up two support braces up to the ceiling, saw and chip out two notches in two separate cross braces, build the frame to hold and anchor the motor, and and and and and....
I'm so happy that my father is willing and able to do this. I am NOT an engineering kind of girl-- plumbing: yes; basic construction: yes; wood turning: yes; engineering: no way Jos?.
