Job related - Anyone know average pay for Daycare teachers?

Does anyone have an idea how much a typical daycare center employee is paid?  Is it $10/12 an hour?

Re: Job related - Anyone know average pay for Daycare teachers?

  • Depends. I work at a private daycare facility as an aide and the range is about 10-12. Teachers that have a degree make more than that, but it all depends on where you work. I know a few people that work at corporate centers and it seems like they pay more.

  • It depends on the center and your experience.  I have an elementary and early childhood degree with years of experience in a daycare (3 or 4 summers) and school (3 years) setting.  I've worked daycare over the summers and the highest I made as a teacher was $12.50/hour

  • I worked at a school as an assistant preschool teacher in 2007 (had a B.A at the time) and made 9.75/hour. I got bumped to lead teacher for a few months and made 11.50.
