also, was this after you had already done cereal? Or did you start right with the veggies/fruit?

We started with cereal.

We started with rice cereal. We did oatmeal after that cause rice didn't go over very well. Once we started veggies, pedi said orange veggies first...so we did sweet potatoes first then squash.

We did oatmeal instead of rice cereal since DS1 had constipation issues.  Neither one liked plain oatmeal much, so we added sweet potatoes after about a week.  Rice cereal is mostly just for practice, so once she's figured it all out, I'd go for something with more nutrients.

We started with oatmeal this time, because rice cereal made DD really constipated. So, we just skipped it period.

As you know, I have some pretty bad food allergies, so I was very strict about starting baby food.  We waited 3 days before starting a new food.  So, rice cereal for 3 days, then oatmeal for 3 days, then orange foods - sweet potatoes, squash, carrots each for 3 days.  Then the rest of the veggies, then the fruits. 

She's going to love solid food!

Skipped cereal this time around.  Tried it once and DD hated it, so we went straight to carrots.  Did the three day waiting period between each new food for awhile.  Then jumped right into squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, apple sauce.  Good luck.  Starting "real" food  is so fun!
