Hudson River cruise?

Has anyone done a river cruise, either down in the city or up here in the HV?  Wondering if any of them are good.

I'm looking for stuff to do next weekend when we have friends visiting.   One has a medical condition that makes it hard for her to do much walking, so wandering around the City all day is out of the question.

I'm looking for interesting stuff to do that would be minimal walking.  Already planning a trip to one of the local wineries for a short tour and wine-tasting, and possibly a day at the beach if they really want to.

Um, I don't think it counts as prying when I put all of the info in my siggy for the world to see!  LOL.  We're planning on going through with it in October, but it's just not something we anticipated and is taking some getting used to and a lot of research.   I just hate being the only person in my excessively fertile family that can't seem to procreate without even trying (seriously, I have 17 nieces/nephews, it's ridiculous!).

We're working with the Fertility Center at Valley Hospital in NJ.  They actually handle a reasonably high percentage of DOR patients ( 25%, compared to about 10-15% at most centers), and their success rate is just as good as anywhere else around even taking into consideration the more difficult patient profile they are dealing with, so I think that bodes well.

I've been doing a lot of research about protocols for DOR and now feel like I have the information I need to know what questions to ask the doc before proceeding.   It's a lot to process!

Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>
  • I did a booze cruise around Manhattan in college also, tons of fun then.

I did a sober one in HS also tons of fun.

When I actually had to pay full price for a friend's birthday (Circleline Cruise) it was $75 a head for 2 drinks and food and it SUCKED. The other drinks we redic in price too.  I enjoyed the dancing and people we were with but the quality of everything else sucked.

  • I did one for my 21st birthday. I think it was circle line and it was very nice, but I didn't have to pay so Navy is probably right about it not being worth the money.

    PGaL/PAL Always Welcome!!
  • At my family reunions, we've done the cruise on the Hudson from West Point on the Commander.  We always like it.  Lots of fun.
  • If you don't mind a little drive, next weekend is Sangria Fest in Marlboro.  Its not a lot of walking, they have 3 or 4 different types that you can try, there is music and food and its a good time.
  • DH and I went on the River Rose out of Newburgh last year; it was nice.  You can easily go to Ribworks after it, so even if the boat sucks, the mac and cheese will make up for it.
