  • We're on our way back from a surprise 30th for a friend in Salem. Passed up our July sox game to go and worth it :-). We took our nephews to the science museum yesterday to help give my sil a break. My bil just had open heart surgery and is in icu. Lots going on the first week back to work! Note yo self - don't plan an educational trip on the weekend after a long week of learning. Your brain will be on over load. Now we get to split wood at my parents house for a couple of hours. I hope we can squeeze in the beach or pool later Hope everyone is having a great weekend! !!

  • We had a great weekend!  I took Friday off because Taylor had her 15m appt.  She is 31 inches and 26.5 lbs.  She is thinning out for sure!  Then I dropped my van off to get the window fixed (under warranty, yeah!) and spent some time with my mom and niece.  We ended up at the pool in Bangor before I had to go get the van.  Taylor and I headed to Belfast for my BFF's Pampered Chef party.

Yesterday we went to Popham Beach with a friend from work!  Her son is 3 weeks older than Taylor so they had a good time.  I got a sunburn but that is clearly my own fault.  I put suncreen on Taylor but none on me. Oh well, I'll deal.  We are getting a sun shelter for next time because the umbrella we had was a PITA!

Today is a hanging out at home kinda day.  I'll go get groceries but that's about it.

Have a good week at work Jess!

  • MIL came up to visit yesterday and brought with her 3 Lilac bushes! a white one, pink one and purple one. We also went to Paris Farmers Union after she got here with the intention of buying mulch and she ended up buying us two Hydrangeas (white and one blue) and a redish/orange Rhododendron. She also helped us transplant a few things. The yard is starting to look better!! yay! I made a nice lunch and we went out for ice cream and antiquing. It was a nice day. She doesn't visit often, so it was nice of her to come up.

Today I'm cleaning the house, doing the grocery list and just hanging out. I might try to transplant a few more plants. I'm probably going to go back to bed for another half hour or so first. :) Hudson has a playdate at the dog park this afternoon too. yay!. :)

So far it's been ok! DH got a promotion on Friday so we went out to dinner to celebrate. Yesterday, he painted the nursery/ guest room and I went to his aunt's to work on some sewing projects.

I really wanted to go to Ikea today but I can't find anyone to go with me... and I do not feel like going there alone. I'm not sure what I'll do instead! We have a lot of housework/ laundry to catch up on... and DH is gone all week so I need to do food shopping and such for the week.

  • The weekend has been good so far!

Friday, we spent the entire day getting the garage door situation sorted out, thanks to my fabulously savvy dad (see earlier post).

Then yesterday, I prepped some food for today and brought some to my IL's campsite at the Range Pond campground, where they are spending the month of July. We had a lunch of sorts and did birthday stuff for my MIL and MH. Then we came home last night and I argued with MH about him not cleaning the house and I finally kicked him out of the downstairs area so I could make his birthday cake (which I'm still hoping is a surprise).

Today, we've been cleaning and we're about to head out to find a cloth tablecloth that looks a little more summery than the ones I have. The one I want is not available at any of the BBBs in Maine (of course!), so I am on The Hunt!

Then we'll have friends over at 1pm until whenever... Good food, good company-- can't beat that for an ending to the weekend!

  • It's been a good weekend.  We spent Friday and Saturday nights at my aunt's house since her family is away and we like there place.  Yesterday, I worked on my promotion application and then we went to a wedding with a carnival theme and a polo game to watch afterwards.  The wedding was for two old coworkers of MH, so that was really fun - over half his old office was there and it was great to catch up with people!

I baked a blueberry pie this morning.  This afternoon I will finish my application (hooray!) and keep an ear out in case MH needs help as he starts doing some kitchen demo.

  • This weekend was a quiet one. Past couple of weeks we've been everywhere but home! Got some things around the house done, painting, clothesline, cutting the weeds :P. Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks we'll be ready to spread some loam and determine the way our property is going to take shape. Also did a bit of shopping. Did some extreme couponing at CVS, Target and Shaws. Just gearing up for this week. I have 2 doctor appointments and Caroline has her 15 month appointment. Anxious and excited about that. Can't wait to hear her stats, but not happy about blood draws for allergies and vaccinations :(

Taylor only had 1 vaccine on Friday so hopefully that is all Caroline needs too!  No fun for blood draws though!

  • I have worked all freaking weekend long.  We had Moxie Days yesterday and today I have horse camp clean up right smack in the middle of the afternoon.  DH is so grumpy and just took off and went to the lake without me.  I can't blame him it's way too nice to be stuck at the house waiting for me to come home.

We had a good weekend, but I'm sad it's over!  Marcus and Henry had a baby/doggy play date yesterday morning with a friend of mine which was fun.  We did some weeding, playing outside, and grilling.  Today we went up to Rockland and visited with my family for a little bit and then Marcus and I went to one of my best friend's baby shower which was really nice.  I just planted a few more vegetables in the garden.

  • It has been slow around here! Not that I'm contributing much that much lately- but I'm around!

It was a nice weekend. I had a bellydance gig on Friday night that went decent. It's always fun to get glammed up no matter how the actual dancing goes! Saturday James and I ran errands in the morning -Target & Old Port Candy Company- because I needed to get birthday stuff. Someone is turning the big 0-2 next Saturday! I napped in the afternoon and we got take-out for dinner then watched a replacement Yes Man DVD from Netflix.

Today was a lovely day of sleeping in, hanging out in the morning and then to the grocery store with James. I got good chores done during J's naptime, got outside briefly, watched DH put together the birthday tricycle, and had some fun with the boys. We had yummy teriyaki fish for dinner and I got most of dinner done for tomorrow.  Now I'm enjoying wine and Fox Animation Domination with DH.

  • We had a good weekend and I have the sunburn to prove it! Haha. We were outside most of the time.

The little dude has started calling me "Gonnie" - I guess that's his version of "Jacki," lol. It's pretty cute.

Yesterday evening my grampy went to the ER with pneumonia and some heart issues that they haven't fully figured out. He's 91 but has barely slowed down at all, and I really hate to see him doing poorly.  :(

Tonight I'm supposed to go see my grandmother's house to try and finalize a decision about buying it.  Right now life just feels scary/exciting/makes me want to have a glass of wine and it's not even noon.

  • Phew! I am finally going to be home for more than 24 hours for the first time in 9 days. I am absolutely wiped! Got home Thursday from Bar Harbor (4 hours of driving) and then turned around and left on Friday for Vermont (another 4 hours of driving). I worked all day Saturday (1.5 hours total of driving) before staying in Killington. Hiked bright and early on Sunday (6:15AM start on the trail) before driving the four hours home. Last night we went out for a motorcycle ride in the hopes of seeing one of my former coworkers in Ogunquit. Couldn't find the place, so we ate at the first place we saw before coming home.

I was thinking I had two weeks until my next over night for "work", but I realized this morning that it is this coming weekend. So I'll be off again Saturday morning and back Sunday night. Oi! Lots to do before then.

  • We had such a nice weekend.  Breakfast out on Saturday with MH's cousins who were briefly in town, then we packed up the kids and the car and headed up to my sister's cottage in northern MA.  Spent Saturday afternoon at the beach, got the kids to bed early and had a relaxing dinner/TV night with MH, then hit the pool and the playground on Sunday before coming home.  I also got in a nap and was finally able to weed my front yard, which had been overrun with clover.  (We won't speak of the state of the back/side yards.  Eep.)
