Soft Cups, anyone?

I've heard so much about these things.

We don't have sex for a week during my cycles because its just too messy.

I'm wondering if by using this product though, is there a chance for accidents to happen?  Maybe be worth a shot at picking one up, not sure though.

Re: Soft Cups, anyone?

  • The Instead soft cups are terrible. I would get a Diva Cup instead. They actually sell them at high end grocery stores now in the natural/organic toiletries section.

  • They are awful. Don't hold any more than a tampon, pita to put in( gotta get it just right or it will leak), disgusting and messy to take out and can not have sex with it in ( hard plastic rim that he WILL feel). No thanks. Give me good ol'fashion easy peasy to use no mess tampons. If we want sex, it'll just have to be shower sex.

  • That sounds really gross.

Before I had my hyster, xH was not allowed near me for a week, but then I had cramping and such heavy cycles that sex was not a consideration.

My thought was this: we will not die if neither of us has sex for one week out of the month.

  • I have tried Soft Cups and they seem like the would be effective but my cervix is in an odd position so I have no choice but to wear pads anyway. It did not catch much blood and on top of that you have to throw it away. Just help out the environment and get yourself the diva cups at Whole Food's and other health food stores.
  • The Diva cup is fantastic SO much less disgusting and messy than tampons IMO but you aren't supposed to have sex while using it.
  • I ditto Diva Cup. I've been using it for about 6 periods now and I will never go back to pads! You can't have sex with it (it really would be basically impossible) but as far as periods go, it makes them bearable. The soft cups look messy... but I haven't tried them.
