I tried to explain to my son how it would be awesome to get a free slurpee everyday on your birthday. But I don't think he was listening.
Re: Free Slurpee Day Randoms
Ha ha, maybe a slurpee would get him excited enough to come see what else is out in the world. :-)
I friggin' loved the weather this weekend. Although we had a bummer when we tried to go for a long bike ride Saturday morning - Andy popped a tire as we prepped for the ride (he was inflating the tire and overinflated it). I started the ride while he went to go see if Meijer or any place nearby that was open would have another tube, but no luck. :-(
Oh no! I heard on the radio that area was getting pounded - glad you made it in safely!
My insurance company called me Saturday morning to tell me that I need to have an inspection on my house to make sure we have enough coverage. Apparently building material costs are up. Boo. The craziest part in that we currently have coverage in the amount of double what we paid for the house, and based on current builder rates it's still not enough. And that's with no upgrades.
That sounds so fun!
Yay, how nice! As I was cleaning out my car on Saturday, I was thinking about asking for a car detailing for my birthday. My car is gross.
I remember that like it was yesterday.
Me too! I can't believe she's almost 2!
One of my boss is out of town today.....it was raining in his office. He is NOT going to be happy
Yikes! Hopefully nothing important got ruined.
Oh my goodness. All of the files he had on his desk got wet. His monitor, and keyboard will probably have to be replaced too.
What sucks is that this is the second time this has happened to his office. There's a piece of flashing (is that what it's called?) that's peeled away from the building and water gets in there and leaks into his office. It got fixed once, but not enough I guess.
Today is my FIL's birthday!
He looks forward to "his" birthday treat every year, even at 63.

I didn't want to ruin my running shoes, so I took them off in my car and ran into the house barefoot, also wearing a sweatshirt I found in the car.

I will join you in the crazy overdue club - Henry was 13 days late. He came after an early morning swim with my mom at the Ford Fieldhouse pool.
(edited for clarity)
I seriously thought about getting another cat on Saturday. We went to Petco to pick up a couple of things for G and they were doing adoption day (Kasa, does this sound familiar?). I really wanted to go check out the kitties, just to say hi, no intentions of finding one. L insisted on completing my "mission" first (read: getting the stuff we came for). He was apparently willing to let me see the kitties after getting the stuff I needed, but I didn't know that.
On the way out, I walked past a cage with a gorgeous gray cat who would have matched so nicely with G. I even thought of a name for him. I'm pretty sure that if I had visited him, he would be in my house right now.
Glad you had a nice weekend! We love Hoffmaster--it's *right* by our house. I drive past Sam's Joint everyday on my commute.
Wow! I'm very thankful for me 4 day late baby.
Hi!
Des&Molly, glad to hear you made it to work okay! That was a pretty intense storm that went through. I walked into my office and looked out the window and it was overcast. I sat down with my back to the window, and five minutes later I turned around and it was black. I couldn't believe how fast it got dark.
Wop, that totally sucks that your boss' office flooded again. I wouldn't be happy if I were him either!
Diana, yep, your story sounds familiar. That's tough. I usually go to Chow Hound in Standale for my pet supplies. Their cats for adoption are right next to the cash registers so there is no way to avoid them. I wish I could give all homeless animals a home.
Deeder, glad to hear you had a nice weekend! My H suggested going to Hoffmaster yesterday. It would have been a great day there, but I vetoed because I really needed to get some stuff done at home that I'd been putting off for too long. Maybe we'll get there next weekend.
I was just reading about Betty Ford. I honestly didn't know much about her previously. But she sounds like a really remarkable woman.
Want to hear my embarrasing mom moment...I took the girls grocery shopping last night. Amelia started walking away from me, so I picked her up and she was squirming. All of sudden I noticed I was looking at her bare buns. She had an accident and I had forgotten to put a new pair of underware on her.
Of course, not only did she have a dress on, she had a dress that rode up easy.
So I put her in the cart and kept positioning her legs, so you couldn't see up her dress. I kept trying to put boxes of food around her.
I don't want to think how many people she accidently flashed. I probably should have went and bought a new pack of underware and put it on her.
My kids were 5 and 8 days early. I can't imagine... Props to overdue mamas.
Mine came right on his due date.
