Weekend Update

Hi girls!

How was the weekend?

I spent about 43 hours in bed with a high fever which finally broke last night at 9, so I'm glad to be able to go DO something today, even if it is work. :)

Re: Weekend Update

  • Hello all!

@Barb- I'm so glad you're feeling much better, that sucks to be stuck in bed for that long!

I'm sitting on the balcony of the room we have here in Ormond Beach, drinking a cup of coffee and watching the waves coming onto the sand. Finally we're here!

The "weekend" for me was driving from Florence, SC to here Saturday, stopped in  Savannah to have lunch at the Shrimp Factory and get some treats from the Savannah Candy Kitchen. The kids LOVED it! I'm so glad I pushed us to do that rather than get here earlier. We had dinner with my bro and family then walked around the hotel.

Sunday we slept in a little and then sat on the beach, got in the ocean and hung around thru lunch, then went to my dad and other bro's hotel later before going to my aunt's house for dinner. Got home around 9:30 and chilled out for the evening. Pretty nice start to the vacation!

Tomorrow we're going to Universal!! I can't wait!

  • Barb  - that's a crappy way to spend your weekend :( Sorry to hear that!

We had a good weekend - it was perfect weather, which if you can't tell by now, makes me VERY happy!  Saturday night me and DH went to bachelorette and bachelor parties for our couple friends who are getting married next weekend.  Yesterday we bummed at the beach all day.  I made two batches of homemade ice cream with my new KA Ice Cream Maker Attachment.  OMG.  So good!

  • Barb - Glad you are feeling better!

Lisa - That all sounds so wonderful, enjoy your vacation!

Friday we went to a friends going away party, she is about to deploy for 7 months.

Saturday, we went to the beach in the morning which was so nice.  Then we went out for sushi for dinner, and I finally found sushi that DH REALLY likes, so I am excited about that  :)  After sushi we went over to a friends place to hang out and play pool.

Sunday was laundry and errands and such.  DH is converting our garage into a mini gym, so he was working on that a lot of the day.  Then DH made an amazing dinner (shrimp, lobster, champagne, salmon, and zucchini)  and we watched "Tin Man" on Netflix.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  • Glad you are feeling better.

I had such a wonderful weekend. Friday Night I went to Benihana in Weston. The host sat us next to Manny Ramirez (he played for the Dodgers). I honestly didn't know who he was. I went to dinner with my husband and my 21 year old nephew. Both were acting like little kids. They were playing with their cell phones and on facebook. I didn't know why. After 10 mins of them goofing off, I said what's going on... Why are you guy acting this way... My husband text me with "Dodger player sitting with us Manny Ramirez google him"... So I did and started to laugh. Manny noticed and said Hi to us and kindly said "it happens all the time". He was making jokes with his guest (two male friends) and the cook. Super down to earth person.

Saturday chilled with an old friend and Sunday relaxed.

  • Hi!

This weekend was kinda nuts. Friday night we stayed in and made shrimp tacos for dinner and crashed pretty early.

Saturday we were invited to a BBQ and a b-day party, so we went to the bbq for a few hours and then came home to get all fancied up for the party. It was a BLAST but we drank entirely too much and I got a little sick. Yuck. DH says I wasn't embarrassing until after we got home and it was just the two of us so I hope he's right :) It was a lot of fun but I won't be doing that again for a loooong time!

During the day Sat I had spotted a dog running around our neighborhood that I'd never seen before. We got close enough to it to see that it had a collar, appeared to be fed, but also was kind of dirty and dying for food and water. But, she ran into the woods before we could catch her. Sunday our neighbors managed to get her on a leash and I took her home and called animal control (we thought about keeping her until we found the owners but decided against it). So, they gave me the owner's phone # which was disconnected and they are from another county. We assumed we would not find them....told our neighbors the name of the owners and they said there is someone with that name down the street. Crap! The dog was already at the shelter, and those people's # is unlisted. I felt kind of bad for "stealing" their dog, but at the same time the dog was roaming around in different parts of the neighborhood for two days and clearly needed some attention. I hope I did the right thing and I hope they are smart enough to call the shelter and get the dog back.

Okay that was too long, sorry!

  • Barb I'm so glad you are feeling better! That sounds awful.

Our weekend was fabulous....we spent the weekend in the mountains with DH, my aunt/uncle, cousin, brother & his gf and another friend. You are pretty much cut off from the world up there....no cell service and no tv....just the radio, fourwheelers, a campfire and the creek to swim in :) Oh and lots of drinking!

  • Barb, you weren't the only one sick.  I ended up with a pretty bad resp. infection over the weekend.  Yesterday morning my chest was so tight that I ended up going to the Walgreens clinic just to make sure it wasn't bronchitis.  They gave me an inhaler (which makes me jittery) and told me to take mucinex.

So yeah, I did very little this weekend.  I managed to make it to Target Saturday morning and then grocceries yesterday, but that's it.  DH was nice and did laundry and cooked this weekend.

  • Barb, sorry you were sick, but glad you are feeling better!

My weekend was fun. On Friday I was in Dallas for work and I didn't get home until late Friday night. Saturday day was laundry/errands, and then that evening we drove down to South Jersey to pick up my nephews and have them spend the night. On Sunday we took both of them to their first Yankees game!  My little (8 yo) nephew is REALLY into baseball... mostly the Phillies but he likes the Yankees too. So this was a huge treat for him. It's so fun to listen to him and DH talk about the different players, stats etc. I imagine that DH was just like that when he was 8.

  • @Barb & Julie:  I hope you both continue to feel better!

@Rach:  You did the right thing.  It is up to the owner to keep tags up to date, not to mention in their control!

My weekend was good.  I headed to my sister's to get material for our parents' 40th anniversary invite.  We had a good time all around!

Now my work week is off to a crappy start and I'm so ready to go home........

  • This weekend was a very busy one! We are trying to do complete a deep clean 1) before the baby shower this weekend and 2) so we don't have to do it before the baby arrives. Needless to say, we still have a lot to do before Saturday. DH almost has the yard in shape. The house, however, it needs a lot more TLC.

Hope all you ladies that aren't feeling good continue to improve!

    Have a wonderful week!

  • Top of the week to you, ladies!!

Ditto the well wishes for Barb and Julie - it totally sucks to be sick on the weekend! If you gotta be sick, do it on the job's time...hehehe!

Lisa - Jealous!!! We're heading off for a long weekend to Virginia Beach the weekend after this one, and I am sooo ready to bum out. Have fun :-))

My weekend was nice, but we didn't go out or really do anything...H had to work practically around the clock again, and when he was home he was sleeping. But it was still great to have a quiet, calm house! I tittered about doing laundry and light housework and got caught up on some much needed chores. The weather was amazing (if hot!!) so that was really cool Smile

  • Ladies - glad you are feeling better summer colds/illnesses are the worst cause you'd rather be outside!!

Friday we had rehearsal then went out for drinks then I came home and made brownies for my friend who was celebrating her 1 year cigarette free (her request was my special caramel brownies  to take on her trip to the beach http://laurieskitchen.wordpress.com/2011/02/14/caramel-brownies/ )

Saturday we had Tech Saturday for our show. Then had dinner w/ DH, MIL and my mom. We at at a restaurant that may well be in the running for our NYC brunch (nice and big takes reservations which is SO rare in NYC)

Sunday I made soup for my co-director who was feeling under the weather (bad cold) then did some cleaning/arranging of the house. It was pretty good!

DH was in the city most of the weekend taking an all day intensive class Sat/Sun for Flash (computer thing) so that kept him busy while I arranged so I didn't have to get input from the peanut gallery lol

  • The weekend was good, but much too quick!

We drove up to Massachusetts Saturday AM for MIL's Birthday, then back later in the afternoon. 3 1/2 hours each way for a 4 hours visit. GOOD TIMES!

Sunday we met with our realtor and really got the ball rolling with what we are looking for and what our plan of attack is, I am so excited to get going and find the house of my dreams.

After that meeting we went home and hung out poolside in the late afternoon. It was a nice chance to talk to DH and my parents about our goals for the house and what we really can make happen.

And today, back to work and not happy about it.

  • Weekend was great! It was DH's b-day so we went to one of our favorite casual french restaurants. SOOOOO delicious!

We also went to one of my BMs going away party. She is moving to San Fran and I am so bummed :( BUT, that is just another reason to go back to SF!

Sunday we went over my MOH's house and watched the Brazil vs USA women's world cup game. OMG IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Did anyone else watch it?!?!?!

Then we played this Rap Game on Xbox. It was hilarious
