Visa giftcards

Do most stores take these? Like Department clothes stores?

I have a few but I'm afraid to go shopping and they get turned down when I don't have the money to spend myself. They don't have pin numbers or anything which is why I worry lol. Anyone use these before?

You can use them in any store that accepts Visa.  I've done it in plenty of stores.  And the mall is esp. Visa gift card friendly.

When I worked at Macy's (many years ago), we had to just know the EXACT balance. So, if you had $35 worth of stuff and only $30 on the card, it would get declined because it was like a credit card. If I ran the transaction for $30 it would go through and you'd pay the difference. I hope technology had advanced since then! I would have to call the 800 number on the back and get the exact balance for my customers.

Yes, what Krystal said. People use those all the time at Dillard's... just know the exact balance.
