St Michaels

We may go to St. Michaels for the first time.  Has anyone been there?  How is it there?  Any recommendations for a hotel or B&B?

Thanks!

Re: St Michaels

  • It's a cute little town that's fun to just walk around. We stayed at the George Brooks House and really enjoyed our stay there. Very accomodating, competitive rates, yummy breakfast, etc. We liked Ava's Pizzeria & Wine Bar and the Key Lime Cafe as well.

  • It's a cute town for a weekend trip. I wouldn't want to stay much longer. You can also look around Easton or take the ferry to Oxford.  They have some fun stores & restaurants.  I love the bar/lounge at the Inn at Perry Cabin. It's a great alternative to their restaurant which is expensive.  You can get light fare in the bar/lounge. Don't have hotel recs since we stay with family.
  • The Parsonage Inn gets pretty good reviews overall. Point Breeze B&B puts you slightly outside of downtown St Michaels but still on the water (overlooking the harbor.)  I've eaten at the St Michaels Harbour Inn and it was excellent.

Talbot 208 is excellent for eating and its slightly upscale, but apparently if you go to the bar area (which is smaller) you can order from the burger menu, which supposedly is fabulous.

  • We went one year for our anniversary and enjoyed the weekend. We went in October and the town was decorated for Fall which was cute. We also stayed at George Brooks B&B and were very happy with it. We had dinner at Ava's and Talbot 208. Ava's was fabulous, Talbot 208 was nice but not great. We spent the day walking around the town, went to the maritime museum and did a wine and beer tasting.

  • I've only stayed at the Inn at Perry Cabin and it was great. The restaurant there (Sherwood Landing) is wonderful too. The St. Michael's Winery has a great tasting room and the Eastern Shore Brewing Company is fun as well.
  • Also, they have big metal chickens for sale downtown.

I could of wrote this post. We also stayed at the George Brooks B&B (loved it), had lunch at Ava's. Dinner at dockside or something like that. Went to the maritime museum and did a wine and beer tasting in town. Loved just walking around town too.

I just spit out my water.  This is the funniest statement ever.  I think we need a big metal chicken signature contest.  Stick out tongue
