This makes me sad! Our first dinner out with baby was to the Dive Bar - most amazing burgers!! The baby slept in the carrier the whole time and we felt human again! The owner even gave us a baby sized Dive Bar t-shirt!

I hope this doesn't come to the UWS!

I'm not really here nor there on this... I don't have a kid and kids are a long way out for me, so it doesn't really affect me.  On the other hands kids really don't bother me.  If a baby is screaming instead of being annoyed I mostly have pity on the parents... it's not like they're trying to make a scene on purpose.

I'm just laughing because Danielle and I were joking about her taking her daughter to one of the LES bars that has been recently reprimanded for serving minors.

Babies in a bar, I have mixed feelings about.  I guess it depends on the place.  Does it have food or have an outdoor space, then probably okay.  It is a grimy shithole with questionable clientele, then no.

well, then, good thing I didn't try to take Gabriella in!!  No one wants to make a scene at a bar in the middle of the day :-)

Is it weird that I find this completely okay? I mean, when we didnt have children and hung out somewhere, we would find it odd that people brought their kids to a bar.

I waitressed for a while (to earn fast cash for our wedding, cha ching!!) and would be so bummed out to see people sitting at the bar getting wacked and have a baby in the stroller or a toddler running around. Sad. I dont think its an issue to not have kids in a bar, but thats just me.

What I find TOTALLY obnoxious and what started a yelling match was that I got tossed out of Magnolia Bakery years ago because I had my infant niece in a stroller and was trying to pick up some cupcakes for my other nieces. The shop was empty (it was morning) and the baby was sleeping. It should have been an in and out deal, but oh no. Snotty little hipster said they wouldnt serve me b/c of the stroller and Id have to "LEAVE HER OUTSIDE!!"..

Needless to say, I told them where to shove their cupcakes and it was on from there. LMAO

I wouldn't be bringing DD into a bar without food. Otherwise, I think babies are fine in restaurants. I don't know if it's the elementary teacher in me, but I handle a fussing baby at the table next to me much better that older children throwing tantrums and running around the place.
