Tuesday Confessions

i confess i am sad that i'll have to pick another hypothetical girl baby name, because there are too many celebs that have named their babies harper lately, which means it will be all over the place when we decide to have kids and i don't want a super popular name.

boo.

  • Someone stole my f*ing lunch out of the fridge at work. I confess that I might go put a big sign on the front of the fridge that says "if something does not belong to you, do not take it. It's common courtesy." I mean, seriously low budget.

    Julie, congrats!!!

  • Congrats, Jules!!!! So exciting!!!

I confess that we've had boy and girl names picked out for years and that even though one of them is becoming more popular, I don't think I could bring myself to change it.

This was a common problem in our office for several weeks.  There is now a sign saying not to take anything that isn't yours.  So I say DO IT!

Jules - CONGRATS!!!!!  Such exciting news!

My confession is I totally f'ed something up a work and now I have to call the client and tell them.  I'm terrified of making this phone call.

  • congrats Jules!!!

I confess that I only seem to find girl names that I like but I do have a few boy names picked out too. DH doesn't seem on board with any of them.

I also confess that I hope that I get to use one of these names sometime in the near future.  Huh?

I confess that this MAY be the MN of the baby shower I just attended and the mom loves sparkly vamps AND the baby name is like numero uno right now on the SS list... I kinda side-eyed it. Its a beautiful name (duh) and its a MN so its not like her 1st name... but the popularity of it makes me "meh" about it now.

And I too am completely jealousE of Julie.

Happy for you, but still green eyed Big Smile

  • H and I had always talked about using Lillian b/c it's my grandmother's name.  I never imagined it would be in the top 20 popular names last year.  I guess there are lots of kids named after their grandmothers b/c Lillian was very popular the year my grandmother was born.

  • I told my SIL my future baby name and she ended up stealing it and naming her daughter the same thing. I confess it still makes me shake with anger thinking about it.

was it Cullen?  One of my bff's in in a bitter name battle because her husband refuses to let her name the baby Cullen even though it doesn't have anything to do w/ Twilight.

  • Being someone with a popular name in the mid- and late-70's (Melissa was #2 for several years, top 5 even longer), I will never name a child a very popular name, certainly not a top 5 name. It sucked! There were 4+ Melissas in my grade in elem. school. The Jennifers got hosed too.

I like my name now though and it goes nicely with my married name, better than my maiden for sure.

duh, sorry, I didn't read the other posts.

  • I think my uncle did this to my dad, because I am Nicole Marie lastname, and my (younger) cousin is Natalie Marie lastname. I'm now married and she's not but it's a little weird that we had such similar names.
  • I confess that I just bought this for DH and I. our 2 year anniversary is coming up and I thought it might be cool. Link

I forgot to add Congrats Jules!
