  • I heard about this story several months ago.   The article you posted doesn't go into detail but the men said they had "no money for medical care", they actually have a lot of money in the bank, but that just shows their mental state.

It's sad and disturbing.  I hope they put them in assisted living or something so that someone will keep an eye on them.

  • I think the most sad thing about it is how isolated this family must have been.  Why would it take so long to discover this woman had died?  Did no one miss her?

  • the story actually reminded me of these twins in Montrose that lived across the street from me.  one seemed almost normal and the other i called Boo because he wandered the streets at night collecting junk and taking it home. boo radley. my roommate called their place "the house from deliverance." it was a gray run down shack with a junkyard all throughout -a true hoarder situation.  NO ONE wanted to approach their front door. they never hurt anyone but were scary because they were so odd. and because they had and looked like rats and we even wondered if they ate them.

  • It sounds like they really do need help--and I do hope the family guardians are able to provide the support and care they need to be safe.

I'm a little surprised they weren't sent for psychiatric care instead of being sent home. When I worked for an outpaitent psych hospital that there was a potential for us to get patients for treatment as part of their sentencing.
