Why aren't the spam posts being deleted?

I hear ya. From what I understand, Mods can't delete posts, just edit them. I don't know if we even have a Mod on this board.

It is really frikkin annoying to have all that spam sitting there. I wish it would get deleted.

Just in case no one has done it, I've reported them all.  Maybe they'll get picked up next time one of the admin's makes a pass through the reporting forum.

I hate it that this board (presumably based on its title) gets a lot more junk than the others.  It's not particularly active, and I think the spam probably scares away some casual posters from other boards.

I am meeting a mod from a different board in person today, so I'll ask her what the deal is with deleting posts and if different mods can do it, or if we need the attention of a Nest employee. There's been trouble trying to delete accounts of the people who turn whole pages into links to other websites, so these spam posts are probably low on the to-do list right now.

I can't delete, but I did edit the solicitation spam from the front page (most recent posts) of this board. Hopefully that will at least help you find the legit posts. 

AmyRI, please feel free to keep me updated about the spam on this board. I'm hoping that these spammers get deleted soon.

You're welcome. For some reason G&T is getting more direct solicitation spam, rather than the covert hacks that redirect you to non-Nest sites. Same sites are being linked to, and quite a few of these spammers are also littering the other boards too, but typically in a response rather than initiating a post. 

FYI: You can block the spammers (you'll have to do it for each one). Open one of their posts, and beneath the post you'll see "Block" right next to "Report."  Then you will not see any of their posts, and therefore, you won't notice the spam that is cluttering your board and crowding out the legitimate posts.

I realize that this is just a band-aid, but in addition to you all reporting these spammers, I am trying to get the admins to delete and block these screennames too. Hopefully we won't have to deal with it much longer.
