Zucchini problems!

I planted zucchini for the first time this year. The plant has grown like crazy, but every time a little zucchini starts to grow, it reaches about 3 inches and then withers and dies. What can I do to make them grow to full size?

Re: Zucchini problems!

  • Don't worry. Its an un-fertilized ovum so it was never going to be anything. Zucs have boy flowers and girl flowers. They only open for one day, so you have to have a day when both some boy and girl flowers open, and then the bees come and pollenate. Then you'll get a real growing zuc. I think I got like 5 duds before the boy flowers started opening. Just wait!
