Hi ladies, I haven't posted on this board for awhile, but I've been lurking still. I have a question for you. I am on the 3 month birth control pill and this is the week I am supposed to get my period. I've been on this pill for a year now and my periods are normally a lot lighter than normal, but this week I have nothing. No spotting or anything. I haven't really had many pregnancy symptoms (my breasts have been sore lately) and I'm waiting until the end of the week to take a test in case it decides to come late. I was wondering if any of you know a reason, other than pregnancy, of why this would happen. TIA!
Re: BCP Question
After a while of being on the pill sometimes you end up with an extremely light period, or sometimes none at all. Also, just like a period when you're not on the pill, it can be affected by high levels of stress. I just do the normal month packs, and a few months ago I was freaking that I was pregnant because it came 2 days late, and then it was really late.
Does it normally come on like Tuesday and is a day late? Or normally on like Sunday and still hasn't come? I went through a few years where I could basically even know what time it would come on the day, and now it's different. But either way there are definitely possibilities other then pregnancy.
Let me find my magic 8 ball.
It says call your doctor, crazyface.
dnbeach, It normally starts really light on Sunday and should be heavier by now.
Ojo, I will call my doctor at the end of the week if it still hasn't come by the end of the week. But I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone before.
Thanks ladies!
Sounds like your body is adjusting itself. My period stayed exactly the same when I started taking BCPs (down to the day), and suddenly after, like, 6 months, it was four days "late", and it stayed on that cycle from then on out. If you've been taking your pills properly every single day, the likelihood that you're pregnant is slim (and I do mean slim). So more likely that it's just one of those weird occurrences that love to show up and give us a mini-stroke.
Ditto to this except replace the cyst stuff with uterine fibroids that bled for 3 months straight. The 3 month pills and I don't get along well...
Definitely POAS. If its negative and AF doesn't show by weeks end, call your doctor (if its positive of course call your doctor as well
) . Assuming you were a good doobie with taking the pills, its likely stress or your body aclimating to the pill.
