Need OB in Portland/Freeport area

Any recs for an OB in the Portland/Freeport area? We are relocating from PA in a few weeks, and I just found out I'm preg w/ baby #2!

Re: Need OB in Portland/Freeport area

  • Congrats and welcome! I've seen almost very doctor at Coastal Women's Health and really liked them. Dr. Slater, Dr. Andrews, and Dr. Caldwell especially. They deliver at Maine Med FYI.
  • I don't have any OB recs but I wanted to say WELCOME! Where in PA are you from? I lived in Bethlehem for a little over a year, moved back here last fall.

Where will you be living and do you know where you want to deliver?  If you're in Freeport you could also deliver at MidCoast hospital in Brunswick.  I used MidCoast Women's health and had Natalie Rockwell as a MW and really loved her.

  • Welcome and congrats!!

When I lived in Portland I used Generations in Portland. I think my Dr's name was Carolyn Hodson. I really liked her and that practice. :)

  • Welcome! I see Dr.Slager at coastal women's in scarborough as well. We're not pregnant (yet!) but I've thought she was great to deal with

  • I saw Dr. Carol Vaughan (a woman) at Generations at Portland and loved her. I chose Generations because they deliver at both Maine Med and Mercy, and I had no clue at 6 weeks where I wanted to deliver.  The whole Generations staff was great; I saw a lot of the doctors during my 36+ hour labor and c/s and they were all super.

Congrats on #2 and on choosing a great state to live!

  • We live in King of Prussia. My husband is from PA, but I grew up in NH and spent summers on Vinalhaven. We'll be living in Yarmouth initially while we look for a house.

I had some complications with my first pregnancy (hospitalized bed rest), and will most likely opt to deliver at Maine Med. I looked around for doctor reviews on the web and the docs at Generations all were recommended.

Thanks for your help ladies! Looking forward to being a Mainah soon!

  • Definitely Coastal Womens! A really good family friend, Dr. Churchill used to practice there! Everyone in the office is very nice!
